LOUISVILLE, Ky., Sept. 17, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Onco360®, the nation’s leading independent specialty pharmacy, has been chosen as a national pharmacy partner by AstraZeneca for Etcamah™ (camizestrant). This new treatment is indicated for adult patients with hormone receptor (HR)-positive, HER2-negative, locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer, particularly those who have developed an ESR1 mutation during aromatase inhibitor (AI) and CDK4/6 inhibitor therapy.

According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Etcamah™ is an estrogen receptor (ER) antagonist that binds to the ligand-binding domain of ERα, antagonizing the activity of ERα encoded by both wild-type ESR1 and mutated ESR1. The drug also induces proteasome-dependent degradation of ERα, without agonizing ERα. This novel therapy marks an important advancement in cancer care, offering renewed hope and a meaningful new treatment option for breast cancer patients.

The approval of Etcamah™ was based on the phase 3 SERENA-6 study (NCT04964934), an open-label, randomized trial. The study evaluated Etcamah™ in combination with a CDK4/6 inhibitor and demonstrated a significant reduction in the risk of disease progression or death by 56% compared to standard-of-care treatment with an AI (anastrozole or letrozole) in combination with a CDK4/6 inhibitor. The median progression-free survival (PFS) was 16 months for the Etcamah™ group, compared to 9.2 months for the standard-of-care group; the hazard ratio (HR) was 0.44 (95% CI 0.31-0.60).

The most common adverse reactions, including laboratory abnormalities, were decreased neutrophils, decreased leukocytes, decreased hemoglobin, decreased lymphocytes, decreased platelets, visual disturbances, and fatigue. These findings underscore the importance of careful monitoring and management of potential side effects.

Onco360 was founded in 2003 to bring together the stakeholders involved in the cancer treatment process and serve the specialized needs of oncologists, patients, hospitals, cancer centers of excellence, manufacturers, health plans, and payers. The company dispenses nationally through its network of URAC- and ACHC-accredited Oncology Pharmacies. Onco360 is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, and is a flagship specialty pharmacy brand of PharMerica Corporation, a leading institutional pharmacy, specialty infusion, and hospital services company servicing healthcare facilities in the United States.

Benito Fernandez, Chief Commercial Officer of Onco360, expressed his honor in expanding the partnership with AstraZeneca. "The approval of Etcamah represents an important advancement in cancer care, bringing renewed hope and a meaningful new treatment option for breast cancer patients. Onco360 is committed to providing access to this innovative therapy in support of the patients and caregivers we serve," said Fernandez.
