MiniMed reports strong first quarter results with 17% net sales increase

MiniMed, a global leader in diabetes technology, announced robust financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, marking a significant start to its fiscal year. The company reported net sales of $843 million, a 17% increase from the previous year, with organic growth at 16%. Notably, U.S. net sales grew by 13%, while international sales surged by 18%, driven by the launch of new products and capacity expansions.

"The launch of MiniMed Flex™ in the U.S. is driving new patient adoption, generating significant account growth, and reinforcing our leadership in automated insulin delivery."
Key financial highlights include: - Worldwide net sales of $843 million, up 16.6% from the previous year, with organic growth of 15.8% - International net sales of $603 million, a 18.1% increase from the previous year, attributed to Simplera™ capacity expansion and the launch of the Instinct sensor by Abbott - U.S. net sales of $240 million, a 13.1% increase from the previous year, with U.S. New Pumps Sold (NPS) growing over 20% year over year, driven by MiniMed Flex™ and new sensor launches
The company's innovation pipeline is also advancing ahead of schedule: - MiniMed Fit™ patch pump was submitted to the U.S. FDA ahead of the fall target, with a full U.S. launch expected in Summer 2027 - MiniMed Flex™ received a CE Mark, well ahead of the calendar 2026 year-end target, and is set for commercial launch in November - The Vivera™ fully-closed loop algorithm completed U.S. pivotal trial enrollment for both Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, with a U.S. launch targeted for the second half of 2027 - Next-gen MiniMed extended wear sensor received U.S. IDE approval, with first enrollment in the pivotal trial planned for this fall
Looking ahead, MiniMed expects organic revenue growth of approximately 10.5% for fiscal year 2027, including the approximate 1.0 to 1.5% benefit from the extra week in Q1 FY27. The company reaffirmed its adjusted EBITDA margin guidance at approximately 16%.
