MCLEAN, Va., Nov. 4, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Veteran Ventures Capital has led a $6.95 million investment in Aformic, a robotics company that designs and deploys autonomous mobile robots and fleet-management software. This funding will accelerate the company's expansion across North American manufacturing and defense industrial markets, addressing a critical shortage of skilled workers in the U.S. manufacturing sector.

Aformic, headquartered in Duncan, South Carolina, operates in the heart of the Southeast's automotive and manufacturing corridor. The company specializes in building customized autonomous mobile robots, including underride platforms and autonomous forklifts, to move materials and supply production lines in factories and distribution centers. These robots use lidar-based mapping to navigate with one centimeter accuracy, while Aformic's proprietary Qursor fleet-management platform coordinates their movements to keep materials flowing seamlessly through factories and warehouses.

Aformic originated as a spinout from AIUT, a global industrial automation and robotics group with over 30 years of engineering experience. This background has enabled Aformic to develop advanced solutions that can carry up to 2,000 lbs, making a significant impact on the efficiency of material flow in factories and warehouses. When production changes, Aformic makes the necessary adjustments in software and robot integration with plant systems, rather than rebuilding the plant floor.

The U.S. manufacturing sector has faced a challenging labor market, with up to 1.9 million manufacturing jobs potentially going unfilled through 2033. This shortage is a major barrier to rebuilding America's industrial base. Autonomous mobile robots are seen as the fastest and cheapest way to increase manufacturing productivity without rebuilding existing plants. Aformic's robots can free skilled workers to focus on adding value to the production process, rather than moving parts on the factory floor.

Veteran Ventures Capital's investment will support Aformic's North American expansion, particularly in the defense industrial base. Derren Burrell, Founder and Managing Partner at Veteran Ventures Capital, now serves on Aformic's Board of Directors.

The Pentagon is initiating a 15-year modernization plan across much of its industrial footprint, which could present substantial opportunities for Aformic. With multiple robots in various Fortune 500 companies and Tier 1 defense OEMs, Aformic stands out in terms of market traction, capability, and addressable market. Additionally, the U.S. Army is spending $18 billion to modernize and automate World War II-era depots, highlighting the growing demand for advanced manufacturing solutions.

This investment will accelerate Aformic's growth, positioning the company to play a crucial role in the modernization of U.S. manufacturing and defense industrial bases.
