Bayonne, NJ, Nov. 06, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Rainforest Distribution Corp., a full-service food and beverage distributor serving more than 4,000 retailers across 22 states on the East Coast, has expanded its routing capabilities by deploying Samsara Route Planning and Commercial Navigation across its company-owned direct-store-delivery fleet. This move is part of a broader technology and infrastructure upgrade aimed at enhancing the company's operational efficiency and service delivery.

The deployment of Samsara's advanced platform integrates routing, navigation, telematics, and compliance into a single, unified system, all connected to Rainforest’s SAP environment through Samsara’s open API. This integration ensures seamless data flow and real-time tracking, providing Rainforest with enhanced visibility and control over its operations. The Samsara deployment covers the full fleet across every Rainforest distribution center, bringing several functions previously managed in separate systems onto one platform.

Rainforest Distribution Corp. has grown significantly over the past decade, expanding from a single location to seven across the eastern United States. The company has acquired regional distributors such as Avenue Gourmet, Associated Buyers, and Perfect 10 Foods, and now employs more than 400 people. Its fleet consists of approximately 150 power units, carrying more than 7,000 SKUs in ambient, refrigerated, and frozen formats. The company operates purpose-built, temperature-controlled distribution centers in Fort Pierce, Florida, and Cartersville, Georgia, and has a dedicated cross-dock in Charlotte, North Carolina. Additionally, Rainforest has expanded its Lynchburg, Virginia, facility.

According to German Ossa, Vice President of Transportation at Rainforest Distribution Corp., the company’s commitment to a company-owned delivery network is crucial for serving retailers at the high-touch levels they require.

The Samsara deployment is part of a multi-year capital and technology program that has reshaped Rainforest’s operating platform. Over the past two years, the company has invested in advanced supply chain technology, including the selection of Manhattan Active® Supply Chain Planning to unify demand planning, forecasting, and replenishment. This technology, combined with the company’s SQF-certified food safety program, allows Rainforest to serve high-touch perishables, emerging brands, and custom retail programs at national-chain service levels.

Rainforest’s fleet, its temperature-controlled distribution centers, and its SQF-certified food safety program are all company-owned and company-run, which is what allows the company to serve high-touch perishables, emerging brands, and custom retail programs at national-chain service levels. Routing is the layer that connects these assets to the store door, ensuring that products are delivered efficiently and on time.

The integration of Samsara’s platform into Rainforest’s operations is expected to streamline the routing process, optimize delivery routes, and enhance overall operational efficiency. With the deployment of Samsara Route Planning and Commercial Navigation, Rainforest aims to further solidify its position as a leading food and beverage distributor in the East Coast market.
