SALT LAKE CITY, Oct. 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- members of the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Utah and local lodges across the state of Utah came together for a coordinated Day of Service. This statewide initiative, led by the Grand Master, involved 12 community projects aimed at supporting emergency shelters, food security, domestic violence centers, and care for vulnerable populations.
The event, which saw over 200 participants, translated the values of Freemasonry, Brotherly Love, Relief, and Truth, into direct community action. Volunteers from multiple Masonic lodges provided hands-on support to critical non-profit partners, including The Road Home in Salt Lake County, Safe Harbor Crisis Center in Davis County, and the Food and Care Coalition in Utah County.
In Salt Lake County, volunteers from various Masonic lodges dedicated 53 individual shifts across facilities managed by The Road Home. These shifts included full-day meal preparation and service (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), multi-shift donation sorting, and cleanup at the Palmer Court Apartments. The efforts of these volunteers significantly supported the operations of The Road Home, which provides essential services to individuals and families in need.
In Davis County, Masons worked directly with the Safe Harbor Crisis Center to improve facilities and support shelter and housing programs. These programs are designed to provide safety, dignity, and self-worth to domestic violence survivors and underprivileged individuals in Northern Utah. The Masons' contributions helped enhance the living conditions and services offered by the Safe Harbor Crisis Center.
In Utah County, members of the Grand Lodge supported the Food and Care Coalition in Provo. Their assistance included meal distribution, shower and laundry services, and transitional housing resources for residents experiencing homelessness. These services are crucial in addressing the immediate needs of those in vulnerable situations.
Tooele County saw local lodge members provide hands-on volunteer assistance to Switchpoint Tooele, aiding emergency shelter operations and supporting community outreach services. Similarly, Masonic lodges in St. George and Cedar City partnered with the Switchpoint Community Resource Center and the Dove Center. Their efforts supported emergency shelter care, food services, and advocacy programs for women and children in crisis.
In Weber, Cache, and Box Elder Counties, Masonic volunteers supported Lantern House in Ogden. Their assistance included shelter operations, food service, and case management prep. These activities were essential in providing comprehensive support to individuals and families in need.
In Uintah Basin, volunteers assisted the Ashley Valley Homeless and Hungry Coalition in Vernal. Their efforts strengthened regional food security and emergency aid distribution, ensuring that more individuals in the area received the necessary support.
Through these coordinated efforts, the Grand Lodge of Free & Accepted Masons of Utah and its local lodges successfully delivered hands-on support to critical non-profit partners, shelters, and crisis intervention centers. The statewide Day of Service not only highlighted the commitment of the Masons to community service but also underscored the importance of collective action in addressing the needs of vulnerable populations.
