Signature Aviation, the world's largest network of private aviation terminals, has been honored with the 2026 National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) Al Ueltschi Award for Humanitarian Leadership. The award, presented on October 21 at a luncheon during the 2026 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) in Las Vegas, recognizes the company's commitment to combating human trafficking.

Signature Aviation's efforts to combat human trafficking are part of the NBAA's Operation Flightline initiative, which was unveiled earlier this year at the NBAA's International Operators Conference. Through this initiative, the company is helping equip aviation professionals with the knowledge and tools to recognize potential signs of human trafficking and report suspected cases. The initiative was developed in collaboration with the National Business Aviation Association and the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE).

According to the U.S. Department of Transportation, commercial airlines account for approximately 12% of transportation used during exploitation, while general aviation accounts for approximately 4%. Signature Aviation's training programs, tailored to the operational realities of private aviation, are part of a broader effort to raise awareness and improve reporting mechanisms within the industry.

The company's training program, which was updated in February 2026, includes resources and practical guidance to help industry professionals identify potential warning signs and understand appropriate reporting procedures.

Signature Aviation operates an extensive network of private aviation terminals, with over 200 locations covering key destinations in 27 countries across five continents. The company also offers over 16 million square feet of carbon-neutral multiuse office and hangar real estate globally, providing unique networkwide benefits and advantages to guests who base their aircraft at a Signature location.

In addition to its humanitarian efforts, Signature Aviation continues to expand its services and offerings. The company is also involved in other initiatives, such as disaster relief efforts and support for the ORBIS Flying Eye Hospital, which aims to prevent blindness.

The Al Ueltschi Award for Humanitarian Leadership, named after Albert L. Ueltschi, who was widely recognized for his lifetime of dedication to philanthropic causes, is a testament to Signature Aviation's commitment to making a positive impact in the aviation industry and beyond.

This award is part of a broader trend in the business aviation community, which has long been supportive of initiatives to thwart human trafficking. In 2025, NBAA was among the first recipients of Flights to Freedom's Clay Lacy Friendship Medal for leadership in raising awareness about human trafficking.

The award highlights the importance of collaboration between industry stakeholders to combat human trafficking effectively. By working together, the aviation community can help ensure the safety and well-being of those who travel and work in the industry.
