Thornburg Income Builder Opportunities Trust Announces Monthly Distribution

SANTA FE, N.M., Sept. 1, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Thornburg Income Builder Opportunities Trust, a registered investment company trading on NASDAQ under the ticker TBLD, has announced a monthly distribution of $0.10417 per share. This distribution, payable on September 21, 2026, will be distributed to shareholders of record as of September 11, 2026.
The distribution rate is calculated by summing the monthly distribution amounts over four quarters and dividing by the net asset value or market price per share as of the distribution announcement date. According to the Trust, the distribution includes a long-term capital gain but does not include a short-term capital gain or a return of capital. Shareholders will receive further details regarding the specific tax characteristics of the distributions after the end of the 2026 calendar year. The final determination for all 2026 distributions will be made in early 2027.
The Trust’s investment objective is to provide current income and additional total return. It aims to achieve this by investing, directly or indirectly, at least 80% of its managed assets in a broad range of income-producing securities, including both equity and debt securities of companies located in the United States and around the globe. The Trust may also invest in non-U.S. domiciled companies, including up to 20% of its managed assets at the time of investment in equity and debt securities of emerging market companies.
Thornburg Income Builder Opportunities Trust is subject to a 4% excise tax if it does not distribute to common shareholders by the end of any calendar year at least the sum of 98% of its ordinary income and 98.2% of its capital gain in excess of its capital loss for a one-year period ending on October 31 of the calendar year. In certain circumstances, the Trust may elect to retain income or capital gain to the benefit of shareholders.
While the distribution amount may exceed the net investment income for a given period, it could include a return of capital, which is a partial return of the amount invested by the shareholder. This return of capital does not necessarily reflect the Trust's investment performance and should not be confused with "yield" or "income."
