Symmatrics launches AI & Post-Quantum Readiness Pledge
On July 27, 2026, Symmatrics, a leading cybersecurity firm, launched the AI & Post-Quantum Readiness Pledge, a commitment aimed at driving organizations to prepare for the security challenges of the AI and quantum era. This initiative, which was unveiled at the grand opening of Symmatrics' new headquarters in Tysons Corner, Virginia, encourages businesses to take proactive steps towards cryptographic resilience and post-quantum preparedness.
The pledge, accessible via the Symmatrics website, reflects growing industry momentum towards quantum security. This is evident in the recent actions of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), which has published post-quantum cryptography standards and urged organizations to begin the migration process. Additionally, two Executive Orders issued in June, Executive Order 14412 and Executive Order 14413, further accelerate the federal government's quantum preparedness efforts. These orders direct federal agencies to adopt NIST-approved post-quantum cryptography, establish migration deadlines for high-value systems, and extend these efforts to critical infrastructure and future federal contractor requirements.
The AI & Post-Quantum Readiness Pledge provides organizations with a practical framework for action. Signatories commit to several key actions, including inventorying cryptographic assets and dependencies, prioritizing systems exposed to "harvest-now-decrypt-later" risks, planning a NIST-aligned roadmap for post-quantum encryption (PQE) migration, engaging vendors and suppliers on their own migration timelines, and reporting progress to executive leadership or the board annually.
Drew Davis, SVP of Strategy at Symmatrics, emphasized the importance of proactive action: "Organizations best positioned for the quantum era will be those whose leaders choose to act before they are forced to.
