CALGARY, AB, Sept. 1, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Northstar Clean Technologies Inc. has reported its financial and operational results for the second quarter of 2026, achieving significant milestones and production updates at its Calgary facility. The company has processed over 100 tonnes of material per day during June and reached a peak rate of over 120 tonnes per day, marking an important step forward in the ramp-up of its Empower Calgary facility.

Aidan Mills, President and CEO of Northstar, stated, "Given Northstar's focus on production and operations at the Calgary facility, achieving ERA's Milestone 4 is a crucial accomplishment. We have continued to advance the facility, processing over 160 tonnes per day in the first three weeks of July, and are now well-positioned for sustained commercial operations."

Despite these encouraging peak processing rates, the company remains focused on achieving reliable and sustained production. In July, Northstar paused processing activities to fast-track certain winter upgrades and perform maintenance. These upgrades, which were commissioned in August, are expected to enable the facility to resume normal operations imminently. The experience gained through the facility’s ramp-up continues to inform ongoing optimization and the engineering of future Northstar facilities.

Northstar also reported that it has exceeded 120 tonnes per day processing rates and completed liquid asphalt sales to McAsphalt in July. Additionally, the company was awarded a new patent from the USPTO for its proprietary asphalt shingle reprocessing technology in August. The company has achieved the Emission Reduction Alberta (ERA) Milestone 4 sustained production target, which is expected to result in a grant payment upon the filing of the final project report, scheduled for this winter.

Financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, show a revenue of $208,873 and a gross profit of $54,019, down from $142,487 and $194,780 in the same period in 2025. The decrease in gross profit is mainly attributed to $132,779 in grant funding received from ERA and allocated to Cost of Sales in Q2 2025. Northstar reported a loss and comprehensive loss of $3,047,197 for the quarter, compared to $3,130,135 in the previous year. As of June 30, 2026, the company had cash and cash equivalents of $6,163,685.

Northstar will host a virtual investor webcast on September 1, 2026, at 6:30 MDT / 8:30 EDT to discuss these financial results and provide an operational update.

The company’s mission is to lead the recovery and reprocessing of asphalt shingles in North America, addressing the environmental challenge of waste management while creating value from discarded materials. Northstar’s circular economy approach aims to reprocess used or defective asphalt shingle waste back into its four primary components for reuse and resale, starting with its first commercial facility in Calgary, Alberta.
