MoneyCon Shifts to Venetian for Free Fintech Gathering

The fintech industry's annual reunion is set to shift from the show floor to the heart of Las Vegas, as MoneyCon, a free, open gathering for the entire fintech and financial services industry, is set to take place at the Venetian in Las Vegas from October 19 to 21, 2027. The move marks a significant departure from the traditional Money20/20 conference, which has traditionally been held in the same location.

A week after the last Money20/20 at The Venetian, the founders of Fintech NerdCon announced MoneyCon, a free, open gathering for the entire fintech and financial services industry on Restaurant Row at The Venetian, October 19-21, 2027. No tickets. No booths. No badge. The event will be free to attend, with no registration fee, no pass, and no badge required. The event is being presented by Nerd Events Media.

The decision to hold MoneyCon at the Venetian, a popular dining and entertainment destination, comes after a poll conducted by a widely read fintech newsletter found that attendees overwhelmingly disapproved of the move from the previous year's Money20/20 conference, which was held in the same venue. Another publication, published this week, argued that the industry needed a counter-gathering at The Venetian with cheap tickets and open restaurants.

MoneyCon is the second event from the team behind Fintech NerdCon, which launched in 2025 and returns to San Diego for its second year in November. Fintech NerdCon is built on a deliberate rejection of the expo-hall model, no sales booths, no badge scanning, no forced meetings, and draws operators from major fintech players such as JPMorgan Chase, Stripe, Visa, Capital One, Block, Nubank, Revolut, Chime, Plaid, and Coinbase. The event features speakers including the CTO of Plaid, executives from Nubank, the CEO of Revolut U.S., and co-founders of Chime, Gusto, and Modern Treasury.

The event will feature three days of content, conversations, and side events, all built the way operators actually want to spend their time, with the same team and the same standard we hold at NerdCon. The event is free to attend, with no badge required. Sponsorship is open to a limited number of partners.

The Venetian, with its numerous restaurants and dining options, offers a natural setting for the industry to come together in a more relaxed, less formal environment. The decision to hold MoneyCon at the Venetian is expected to attract a larger, more diverse audience, including operators from smaller fintech companies and startups that may not have the resources to attend larger, more expensive conferences.

The event's organizers believe that MoneyCon will provide a more authentic and engaging experience for attendees, allowing them to connect with industry peers in a more natural setting. The absence of a traditional conference setting, such as booths or badges, is intended to create a more inclusive and open environment where attendees can freely mingle and form meaningful connections.
