MacGregor inaugurates new service engineer hub in Trieste, Italy
On September 1, 2026, maritime technology company MacGregor inaugurated a new service engineer hub in Trieste, Italy, marking a significant expansion of its global service network. Located in a strategic position, the new facility aims to bolster MacGregor’s support capabilities for European customers, particularly those operating in the specialized mega yacht sector.
The selection of Trieste was the result of a comprehensive evaluation process. The city not only offers easy access to a skilled labor market but also its central location enhances customer service coverage throughout the region. “The Trieste hub will serve as a critical resource pool, offering enhanced capacity and flexibility to our service network,” stated Tomas Hakala, Executive Vice President of Global Services at MacGregor.
Hakala further emphasized that the new hub’s primary role will be to support the European region, including MacGregor’s specialized mega yacht business. “This initiative is part of our broader commitment to developing and maintaining our service network, ensuring that we continue to meet the evolving needs of our customers,” he added.
The company has already begun recruiting for service engineers in Trieste, with the new hub set to be fully operational by the end of 2026. MacGregor’s expansion underscores its dedication to providing robust support and innovative solutions to its global customer base, contributing to sustainable maritime operations.
