Clash of Clans and WWE team up for global hunt for John Cena’s village
In a unique crossover event, Clash of Clans and WWE have joined forces once again, this time with a personal twist. Long-time Clash of Clans players and WWE Superstars Cody Rhodes and John Cena have come together to enlist the help of millions of Clash of Clans players around the world in a global hunt for Cena’s in-game village.
Cody Rhodes, a decade-long Clash of Clans player, has rallied his community, including WWE Superstars like The Undertaker and IYO SKY, to join the search. The event, which launches on September 1st and runs through September 30th, invites players to raid Cena’s base and unlock exclusive rewards.
“This isn’t just about a game,” said Rhodes. “It’s about honoring the rivalry that started in the ring and has now moved to the virtual world. We need the community to help us find John Cena’s hidden village.”
The search for Cena’s base is more than just a game; it’s a challenge that requires strategy and persistence. Players can raid Cena’s village multiple times, with the chance of earning a one-time-only Cody Rhodes statue if their raid is successful. The event also features six WWE Superstars, including Rhodes, reimagined as Clash of Clans Hero characters, adding to the excitement.
WWE Superstars joining the hunt include: - Cody Rhodes as “Barbarian King” - Alexa Bliss as “Archer Queen” - The Undertaker as “Grand Warden” - IYO SKY as “Royal Champion” - Jey Uso as “Minion Prince” - Kane as “Dragon Duke”
“We’re excited to see how the Clash of Clans community will rise to the challenge,” said Cena, who is known for his competitive spirit both in and out of the ring. “If you want to take on my base, you’ve got to be ready for a tough fight. This is going to be a battle of the titans, both in the game and in real life.”
The event also includes WWE-themed features within the game, such as temporary troops and a special village theme inspired by the upcoming WWE Money in the Bank event in New Orleans on October 10th. Players can find WWE chests that contain a variety of rewards, including Action Figure Equipment, Challenge Tickets, and a guaranteed Cody Rhodes Skin.
Clash of Clans, which has been downloaded over 2 billion times, was recently voted the "Greatest Mobile Game of All Time" by followers of Pubity. The game is available on iOS and Android, providing players with the opportunity to join the hunt for Cena’s base and experience the unique crossover.
Supercell, the Finnish-based game company behind Clash of Clans, is thrilled to partner with WWE on this event. "This collaboration is a testament to the enduring appeal of both brands and the passion of their fans," said a spokesperson for Supercell.
WWE, the global leader in sports entertainment, is also excited to engage with the Clash of Clans community. "This crossover event is a perfect blend of our competitive spirit and the game’s strategic gameplay," said a WWE spokesperson. "We can’t wait to see how players will rise to the challenge and find John Cena’s hidden village."
