Kodachaya Opens in New York’s Koreatown Offering Unique Korean Street Food Experience

Inspired by Korea's traditional market alleys and street food stalls, Kodachaya aims to recreate the vibrant and casual dining experience of pojangmacha. The venue, designed to resemble a small Korean market village, features house-like structures, alley-style pathways, and five food stations serving Korean dishes and pocha-style menus. The open island kitchen allows guests to witness the cooking process, adding a dynamic energy to the space.

A key feature of Kodachaya is its innovative service model. Guests can order and pay via kiosks or QR codes, while staff bring the food to the table. Drinks are available at a self-select beverage station, where patrons can choose their beverages, place them in a basket, and pay directly. This system ensures an efficient and accessible experience while maintaining quality and value.

Some of Kodachaya’s signature dishes include the Kimchi Fried Rice, known as "Kimbbok," which has sold over 2.5 million servings in Korea. Served on a hot iron plate with cheese and a sunny-side-up egg, this dish exemplifies the brand’s focus on familiar Korean flavors and creative comfort food. Other notable offerings include the Italian-Style Sujebi and Tomato Mussel Jjamppong.

Beyond its culinary offerings, Kodachaya NYC is designed as a social destination. The venue includes a Korean-style photo booth for guests to capture memories from their visit, and a karaoke space downstairs for those who want to continue the night after dinner. The restaurant is open until 4 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, providing a late-night dining and entertainment option in Koreatown.
