LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- John Moran Auctioneers is set to present a remarkable collection celebrating the life and career of Abbe Lane, a mid-century entertainment icon. The first auction, scheduled for Wednesday, December 9, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. PST, will feature a dazzling array of luxury items, including fine jewelry, watches, and designer accessories. Pieces by renowned jewelers such as Harry Winston, David Webb, Cartier, and Oscar Heyman will be on display, alongside watches by Audemars Piguet, Baume & Mercier, and Franck Muller. Designer accessories from Chanel, Gucci, Bottega Veneta, and Judith Leiber will also be included, along with gowns worn by Lane throughout her illustrious career.

Born Abigail Francine Lassman in Brooklyn in 1931, Lane began her career on Broadway as a teenager. She joined Xavier Cugat's orchestra in the late 1940s, where she served as the featured vocalist and toured internationally. In 1952, Lane married Cugat, and their partnership continued to flourish. Lane's career took a significant turn in 1955 when she became a star in her own right in Italy. Her film and television appearances made her one of the country's most glamorous and celebrated performers. In 1958, she starred alongside Tony Randall in the Broadway production of "Oh, Captain!" and later appeared in Hollywood films with actors such as Glenn Ford and Audie Murphy. Lane also recorded for RCA Victor and Mercury, and performed with Tito Puente. Her television career was equally impressive, with appearances on programs hosted by Steve Allen, Dean Martin, and Johnny Carson.

In 1960, Lane received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for her contributions to television. She later added novelist to her impressive list of accomplishments with the publication of "But Where Is Love?" in 1992. Lane's bold and sophisticated style was central to her public persona. Her jewelry, designer clothing, and luxury accessories reflect the confidence and sensuality that made her an international sensation. She was known for her distinctive personal style, which defined her life and career.

Following her marriage to Cugat, Lane married Perry Leff in 1964. They shared more than 55 years together and raised their two sons, Steven and Andrew, in Los Angeles. Lane's legacy spans music, film, television, and fashion, leaving behind a remarkable collection that will be auctioned in two parts.

John Moran Auctioneers is grateful to the Leff family for entrusting them with this exceptional collection and the opportunity to share Abbe Lane's story with a new generation of collectors. The two sales will celebrate both her remarkable career and the distinctive personal style that defined her life.
