PostNet, a global leader in high-quality printing and shipping solutions, has once again recognized Jerry Kahn, owner of PostNet Lake Forest in Illinois, with its prestigious Franchisee of the Year award. This marks the second time Kahn has received this honor, having previously shared the accolade with his father, Dave Kahn, in 2014.
The award was announced at PostNet's annual conference in Chattanooga, Tennessee, where Kahn was lauded for his exceptional leadership and commitment to customer service and community involvement. Bill McPherson, PostNet's Vice President of Retail Network Development, praised Kahn's consistent dedication, stating, "Jerry is a standout example of the vision, commitment, and leadership required to succeed in this business."
Kahn's journey with PostNet began when his father, Dave Kahn, opened the Lake Forest location in 1993. Initially an independent mailing and shipping store, the business was later converted into a PostNet franchise to leverage the company's support, training, and tools. The store has since thrived, becoming a family legacy business. Jerry Kahn took over ownership after his father's retirement and now operates the center alongside his wife, Vickie, and son, Joey.
Jerry Kahn reflected on his role, saying, "Growing up alongside the business gave me the opportunity to see firsthand what my father built and the impact it had on our customers and community. When I became general manager in 2006, I was proud to help carry that legacy forward. More than 30 years after opening, our business is stronger than ever and positioned for an exciting future."
In addition to the Franchisee of the Year award, Jerry Kahn has earned other honors from PostNet, including a Top Performer award in 2024 and a Core Value Award in 2022. PostNet Lake Forest also stands out as a top shipper with UPS for over 15 consecutive years.
PostNet, established in 1993, currently operates over 700 locations in North America, Central America, South America, and South Africa. In 2017, the company joined the MBE Worldwide family and rebranded under Fortidia in 2024. Fortidia is a global commerce enabler for small and medium-sized enterprises and consumers, offering a range of services including shipping, fulfillment, logistics, marketing, and print solutions.
