Hiperbaric to Unveil Most Productive HPP System at PACK EXPO 2026

At the upcoming PACK EXPO International 2026, Hiperbaric will unveil the Hiperbaric 525 (H525), the most productive and compact high-pressure processing (HPP) system, at Booth #LU-7718.
Hiperbaric, a global leader in HPP equipment for the food and beverage industry, will showcase this groundbreaking system at the event, which runs from October 18 to 21 in Chicago, Illinois.
High-Pressure Processing (HPP) is a non-thermal preservation method that uses high isostatic pressure, up to 6,000 bar or 600 MPa or 87,000 psi, transmitted by water to inactivate foodborne pathogens and spoilage microorganisms. This method ensures food safety while maintaining product quality, extending shelf life, and preserving the natural taste, texture, and nutritional value of foods.
On Monday, October 19, from 10:00 to 10:30 AM, Hiperbaric will present a session titled "Clean Label Meets Food Safety with High Pressure Processing (HPP)" at the Processing Innovation Stage, Booth LU-7764. The session will explore how HPP can inactivate relevant vegetative pathogens and spoilage microorganisms while preserving sensory quality, enabling clean-label formulations without compromising safety.
The H525, with its impressive 12 intensifiers, offers the highest cycle rate and smallest footprint in the market. It can complete up to 10.7 cycles per hour in a 525-gallon (150-liter) vessel, outperforming similar systems tested under the same conditions. The system is available in two configurations, allowing processors to choose the best fit for their facility.
The Standard configuration places the 12 intensifiers at floor level, requiring 1,000 square feet of floor space and an 8.9-foot machine height. The Integrated configuration, with intensifiers installed on a mezzanine platform, occupies 940 square feet and stands 16.5 feet tall. This setup offers processors a simplified integration path into existing production lines and frees up valuable plant floor space for automation, additional equipment, or foot traffic.
Hiperbaric has also developed an upgrade path for existing H525 units. Current installations can be upgraded to 12 intensifiers, and Standard units can be converted to the Integrated configuration's extended, fully integrated mezzanine platform. This upgrade allows processors to increase throughput without sacrificing floor space.
Operator ergonomics are a key feature of the H525. The fully integrated return conveyor reduces up to 20,000 pounds of manual canister lifting per day, significantly benefiting operators. The intensifier architecture is designed with independent and isolatable units, ensuring that technicians can service one unit while the machine continues running on the remaining units.
