AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, October 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Aquaria Technologies, Inc., a company based in Austin, Texas, has launched a pilot program for its Hydrogrid, a modular on-site water supply system designed for data centers. The system, set to debut in the third quarter of 2027, aims to address the growing concerns over water scarcity and regulatory hurdles faced by data center developers.

The Hydrogrid system, housed in a 40-foot container, can produce up to 5,300 gallons of water per day. A 50-unit field would generate a total of 265,000 gallons per day, covering the water needs of a large data center campus. This on-site water production capability ensures that data centers can operate independently of local water resources and municipal systems, thereby mitigating the risk of water shortages and regulatory delays.

As states across the country grapple with the rapid expansion of data centers, lawmakers in over 15 states have considered or implemented bans or moratoriums on new data center projects. Texas, the nation's fastest-growing market for data centers, has temporarily halted approvals for new data center projects until a thorough review of their water and energy usage is conducted. Aquaria's Hydrogrid system is seen as a solution to these challenges, allowing data center developers to secure their water supply and gain approval more easily.

In addition to the Hydrogrid pilot, Aquaria is also launching a community engagement program called Hydropack. This initiative aims to provide clean water to nearby homes and public buildings, including schools, fire stations, and community centers. Each Hydropack unit can produce up to 265 gallons of water per day, drawing on air moisture and offering a sustainable alternative to traditional water sources. More than 300 Hydropack units have already been deployed across U.S. homes, farms, ranches, and off-grid sites.

Developers, operators, hyperscalers, engineering and construction firms, and public officials interested in the Hydrogrid system can request a site forecast and apply for the 2027 pilot program through Aquaria's website. The company will work with partners to develop reference projects and operating data for the technology, ensuring a smooth transition for those who adopt the system.

The Hydrogrid and Hydropack systems represent a significant step forward in addressing the water needs of data centers and communities. By providing a sustainable and scalable solution, Aquaria is positioning itself at the forefront of the industry's efforts to balance technological advancement with environmental responsibility.
