FREMONT, Calif. and BARCELONA, Spain, Oct. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- AglaiaSense and Leopard Imaging will showcase their privacy-first AI traffic sensing solutions at the Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona from November 3 to 5, 2026, at Fira Barcelona Gran Vía. The companies will present their AI-VIVA (Vision Intelligence for València and Arterials) system, which was selected as a finalist in the fifth urban challenge of Barcelona Innova Lab Mobility (BILM).

AI-VIVA combines AglaiaSense's edge-AI traffic solutions with Leopard Imaging's patented privacy architecture. The demonstration will feature AglaiaSense's MS500 and GS500 cameras, powered by NVIDIA AI Box. These cameras use Sony IMX500 and IMX501 intelligent vision sensors to analyze images, count and classify vehicles, buses, cyclists, and pedestrians in real time. The raw video data is discarded within 400 to 800 milliseconds, and only anonymous metadata is transmitted.

The MS500 camera, with about 2 watts of average power, offers 1080p resolution and is powered from a standard NEMA or ZHAGA street-light socket. The GS500, with a higher average power of 6.5 watts, features dual 4K cameras and includes Ethernet, LTE Cat 4, and GPS capabilities. It can be powered by Power over Ethernet (PoE), 12 to 24 volts DC, or a NEMA adapter. Both cameras are IP66-rated and can operate in temperatures ranging from -20°C to +65°C, making them suitable for installation on existing poles without the need for trenching or new masts.

He emphasized that being named a finalist in Barcelona highlights the effectiveness of their approach.

AglaiaSense's solutions are deployed across North America and Asia, and the company won first place in the Pedestrian Safety Challenge Hackathon, run by the Edge AI Foundation (formerly the tinyML Foundation) and the City of San José. Field tests have shown that the systems achieve detection and counting accuracy above 95%. In a real-world test, the City of Lakewood, Colorado, found the GS500 to be more accurate, energy-efficient, and less costly to deploy compared to traditional IP cameras and LiDAR.

Visitors to the Smart City Expo World Congress can see the live demonstration at Pavilion 3, Level 0, Street D, Stand 71.
