PITTSBURGH, Oct. 21, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Agility Robotics, a leading humanoid robotics and physical AI company, today announced plans to significantly expand its presence in Pittsburgh with a new 50,000-square-foot facility designed to support Agility’s expanding customer base and a growing number of commercial Digit deployments. The new site will serve as Agility’s center of excellence for software and AI, with a focus on Digit skill development and software enablement, while also serving as a major hub for customer deployment and support teams.
The new Pittsburgh facility will add approximately 35,000 square feet to Agility’s existing footprint, increasing the company’s capacity to deploy, monitor, service, and continuously improve Digit as its customer base grows. It will bring together teams responsible for supporting Digit fleets in customer operations, deploying new robots and workflows, validating customer applications, developing and validating new skills, and providing complex robot service and repair.
Agility’s investment in Pittsburgh comes amid growing customer momentum for Digit. Digit is already operating with leading global companies including GXO, Schaeffler, and Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada. Agility is also expanding its customer base with four additional customers across industries including automotive, consumer goods, and agriculture. Earlier this week, Agility announced a new pilot with AGCO, a global leader in agricultural machinery and precision agriculture technologies.
The company has also secured more than $300 million in multi-year orders for Digit 5, subject to satisfaction of certain contractual milestones. The 50,000-square-foot facility will bring together software and AI development teams closer to teams supporting robots in customer environments, allowing Agility to learn faster from what Digit is doing in customer environments, turn those insights into new capabilities, and get those capabilities back into the field.
Scaling Customer Deployments and New Capabilities The new Pittsburgh facility will bring together Agility’s software and AI, deployment, customer support, and service teams. Dedicated space will allow Agility and its customers to validate customer workflows through proof-of-technology evaluations, while teams develop and test new Digit skills using both simulation and physical environments.
As Digit deployments expand, the facility will also become home to Agility’s East Coast service center, complementing existing service capabilities at RoboFab in Salem, Oregon. Bringing software and AI development closer to teams supporting robots in customer environments will help Agility use real-world deployment experience to inform new capabilities and continuously improve Digit.
Agility plans to hire software engineers, AI engineers, service technicians, deployment specialists, and team leaders in Pittsburgh as it expands its operations. The company expects first employee access to the new facility by the end of the year.
Agility’s expansion has also drawn support from Pennsylvania and Pittsburgh leaders, who highlighted the region’s strength in robotics, AI, and advanced technology.
The Pittsburgh expansion complements Agility’s broader U.S. infrastructure for scaling commercial humanoid robotics. RoboFab in Salem, Oregon, serves as the company’s manufacturing and operations center, while its Fremont, California, facility is focused on hardware and physical AI development. Pittsburgh will serve as Agility’s software and AI center of excellence and a major hub for customer deployments and service.
Agility is preparing to become a public company through its previously announced business combination with Churchill Capital Corp XI (Nasdaq: CCXI). The business combination is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, after which the combined company will operate as Agility Robotics and is expected to trade on Nasdaq under the ticker symbol “AGLT.”
