Labor Day weekend is no longer just about relaxation; for many, it is the ultimate DIY retreat. According to a recent VEVOR survey, 93% of respondents planning home improvement projects for the long weekend expect to do at least part of the work themselves. The primary reason? The availability of extra time, not necessarily the sales.
Whether it's fixing a broken deck or enhancing the garden, these "Home Creators" are driven by more than just cost savings. They want to be involved in the process, to know how things are made, and to take pride in their handiwork. However, the path to DIY success is not without its challenges. Safety, time management, unexpected obstacles, and the acquisition of necessary tools are among the common concerns.
Gavin Wu, Brand Director at VEVOR, explains, "Being a Home Creator is about being willing to try, learn, and take ownership of the result. It's not about knowing everything, but about being prepared to face and solve problems along the way."
VEVOR, a leading global home improvement brand, recognizes and celebrates these dedicated DIY enthusiasts. "At VEVOR, our mission is to equip and empower Home Creators with the tools and confidence needed to transform 'I could do that' into 'I did it,' " Wu adds.
The survey, titled "The Labor Day Home Improvement & DIY Survey 2026," was conducted by VEVOR through SurveyMonkey Audience. It involved 529 U.S. adults aged 18 and older with annual household incomes of $75,000 or more. The sample was weighted to reflect U.S. census benchmarks for age and gender, and follow-up questions were shown only to relevant respondents.
VEVOR, founded to cater to Home Creators seeking practical, high-performance products at exceptional value, has supported over 30 million individuals worldwide. The company offers a wide range of products, from outdoor living and tools to home improvement equipment and everyday project essentials. VEVOR aims to provide the tools and confidence needed for people to tackle home improvement projects with confidence, efficiency, and value.
This Labor Day, VEVOR salutes the Home Creators who are not only building, fixing, or improving their spaces but also investing time, effort, and determination into making their dreams a reality. Labor Day, Upgrade Day.
