GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 5, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On September 3, the 2026 SIAL West Asia International Food Exhibition (Guangzhou) opened its doors at the Guangzhou Poly World Trade Center Expo, drawing over 1,500 exhibitors from around the globe. Co-organized by Comexposium, Beijing Aibo SIAL Exhibition Co., Ltd., Guangzhou International Convention & Exhibition Group, and Beijing SIAL Exhibition Co., Ltd., the event is positioned as a critical gateway for companies looking to tap into the Greater Bay Area and global markets.

Spanning an impressive 60,000 square meters, the exhibition showcased a diverse array of products, including imported foods, snacks, dairy, premium beverages, seasonings, and fresh produce. The opening day saw a flurry of activity, with packed halls and vibrant business exchanges, underscoring the Greater Bay Area’s status as a premier commercial hub.

As part of Guangdong’s “Trade Nationwide” and “Trade Global” initiatives, the exhibition featured 14 specialized zones, each dedicated to specific food categories. Attendees could explore everything from tropical dried fruits from Thailand to low-sugar products, wines from Georgia, and specialty goods from Jordan. The event also highlighted Vietnamese instant noodles with on-site tastings, among other offerings from Malaysia, Indonesia, the UAE, Cyprus, Sri Lanka, and New Zealand, as well as independent exhibitors from South Korea, the U.S., Ecuador, Pakistan, Spain, Japan, and Germany.

International pavilions played a significant role, with Thailand presenting tropical dried fruits, seasonings, and low-sugar products; Georgia showcasing its wines and specialty beverages; Jordan focusing on origin-based agricultural and artisanal goods; and Vietnam featuring instant noodles with on-site tastings. The exhibition offered a unique platform for global food and beverage (F&B) brands to access South China and expand into the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) markets.

Professional buyers were in abundance, with a supermarket purchasing manager noting, “The international pavilions here are exceptionally well-represented, we can compare products and supply chains across regions in one stop.”

To enhance business opportunities, the upgraded “Match Me” service facilitated efficient deal-making through data-driven pre-matching. Vietnamese instant noodles attracted multiple supermarket and e-commerce buyers, while Jordan’s premium chocolates gained favor with high-end purchasers. Georgia’s wines drew keen distributor interest, reflecting the efficient atmosphere where buyers arrived with specific needs and left with concrete prospects.

The Greater Bay Area, with over 70 million consumers and robust cold-chain and customs infrastructure, serves as both a gateway for overseas brands entering China and a launchpad for Chinese companies expanding into Southeast Asia. The exhibition runs through September 5, with the next edition scheduled for May 18-20, 2027, in Shanghai at the Shanghai New International Expo Center.
