PHOENIX, Sept. 29, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- 10ZiG Technology, a leading provider of thin and zero client hardware and software solutions, has announced support for the recently released Omnissa Horizon Client for Linux 2606. This new client brings significant video decoding performance improvements, particularly for systems using Intel and AMD GPUs, with gains of up to 2x.
The collaboration between 10ZiG and Omnissa has been ongoing, with 10ZiG providing Omnissa with thin client devices for testing, optimizing, and validating the performance of Horizon Blast Extreme across 10ZiG's Intel- and AMD-based hardware portfolio. This partnership aims to ensure that the Horizon client performs optimally on 10ZiG's endpoints, delivering smoother and more responsive virtual desktop experiences.
Testing of the new 2606 Linux Client demonstrated substantial performance improvements on the 10ZiG 7100q Series, which is powered by the AMD Ryzen R2514 processor, and the 10ZiG 7300q Series, which is equipped with the Intel N100 processor. These improvements were validated across various codecs, including H.264 (4:2:0), HEVC (4:2:0), and AV1 on the 7300q Series, as well as imaging-based and lossless codec options.
Horizon Blast supports a range of codecs for remoting screen content, including H.264, HEVC, and AV1. The performance improvements in Horizon 2606 allow organizations using supported 10ZiG endpoints to deliver smoother, more responsive virtual desktop experiences while maximizing the capabilities of endpoint GPU hardware.
10ZiG is currently working with the Omnissa Ready team to complete certification against the Horizon 2606 release. This certification will validate 10ZiG models that support VAAPI video decoding, providing customers with validated options for deploying the latest Horizon Client capabilities across secure, centrally managed endpoint environments.
