WineStyles Tasting Station Celebrates 20 Years in West Des Moines

WineStyles Tasting Station, a local wine shop, tasting room, and gathering place in West Des Moines, Iowa, has reached a significant milestone by celebrating its 20th anniversary. The flagship location, which opened in 2006 at West Glen Town Center, has grown into a community hub where residents can discover wine, enjoy a glass with friends, explore craft beer and gourmet foods, attend tastings and classes, celebrate milestones, and connect with the community.

Co-owners Andrea and Bryan McGinness founded WineStyles with the idea that wine should be approachable, fun, and enjoyed together. Over the past two decades, the business has cultivated numerous friendships and memories for its customers. This anniversary marks more than a business milestone; it symbolizes the relationships and connections that have been built over the years.

To celebrate, WineStyles is hosting a week of special events leading up to its 20th Anniversary Grand Celebration on Saturday, September 26th, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm. The event will feature a tasting of over 40 wines, a cake cutting and sparkling wine toast at 5:00pm, and is open to the general public. Special promotions include a 20% discount on new Wine Club memberships, all Wine Club wines in stock, and various accessories, including glassware and gourmet foods.

The celebration kicks off on September 22 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4:00pm, followed by a complimentary wine tasting. On September 23, WineStyles will host an Amaro Amore Cocktail Class at BeerStyles; reservations are required on Eventbrite, with limited seating. The following night, September 24, features a Sips & Shenanigans Game Night from 5:30 to 7:30pm. On September 25, the restaurant organizes a Lobster Fest, with special lobster rolls with caviar and a glass of Dom Pérignon champagne while supplies last.

WineStyles has been recognized in the local hospitality community, including being named Best Bar and Best Wine Shop in the West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce's 2025 Best of the West awards. The business has also been listed as one of the Top 100 Retailers by Beverage Dynamics and featured in Entrepreneur's franchising publications. For Bryan McGinness, co-owner of WineStyles West Des Moines, the 20th anniversary is a testament to the support from customers, employees, friends, and the community.
