SAN ANTONIO, TX, September 05, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On November 12, 2025, the West US Volunteer Ministers, in collaboration with the San Antonio Nation of Islam (NOI) Study Group, hosted a community disaster preparedness event at the Artisan at Willow Springs in San Antonio. The event, themed around the empowering message "Something Can Be Done About It," aimed to equip local residents with essential emergency readiness strategies.
Local residents gathered to learn about community resilience and health. The NOI Disaster Preparedness coordinator encouraged attendees to "Get Organized and be Prepared," highlighting the importance of readiness for unexpected situations. A registered nurse specializing in NOI medical needs provided critical health strategies during crises, with a particular emphasis on safeguarding families, children, and senior household members.
The event kicked off with an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a tour of the iconic yellow Volunteer Minister tents, which served as mobile resources for disaster relief and preparedness. Attendees also enjoyed live performances by a local African percussionist, adding a cultural element to the day’s activities.
In addition to the presentations, visitors had the opportunity to explore information on 19 free online Scientology Volunteer Minister courses. These courses are designed to improve conditions for individuals, families, and neighborhoods by providing practical skills and knowledge.
Following the San Antonio event, the West US Volunteer Ministers continued its extensive tour, with recent stops including Las Cruces, Oklahoma City, and Tulsa. The organization, which has a long-standing commitment to community support, has recently arrived in Springfield, Missouri, continuing its mission to provide critical training in disaster relief, communication, conflict resolution, and personal survival skills.
The West US Volunteer Ministers, established over three decades ago in response to an appeal by Scientology Founder L. Ron Hubbard, operates on the motto "Something Can Be Done About It."
