NEW YORK and SAN RAFAEL, Calif., Oct. 01, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Wandercraft, a global robotics company, has acquired Ekso Bionics, a leading developer of exoskeleton solutions, in a move that unites two pioneers in the field of robotic mobility. The acquisition brings together complementary technologies and decades of combined experience, aiming to expand access to robotic mobility worldwide and enhance the lives of individuals with mobility limitations.
Founded in 2005, Ekso Bionics has been at the forefront of medical exoskeletons, driving technological innovation and clinical research. The company's products, including the Atalante X and EksoNR, support patients in standing and walking at more than 700 rehabilitation centers globally. These exoskeletons are FDA cleared and CE marked for use in treating conditions such as stroke, spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and acquired brain injury.
Wandercraft, with its Eve personal exoskeleton and Atalante X medical exoskeleton, has been expanding its presence in the EMEA region. The acquisition of Ekso Bionics will allow Wandercraft to leverage Ekso Bionics' strong U.S. presence and extensive clinical experience. Together, the two companies will form the world's leading medical exoskeleton company, offering an unmatched combination of technology, clinical experience, and global reach.
The acquisition also reinforces Wandercraft's strength in expanding market access and efficiently deploying personal exoskeletons worldwide. Patients are already receiving training at the Walk in New York by Wandercraft rehabilitation center, and a dedicated access team helps users and their care teams navigate benefits, documentation, reimbursement, financing, and coordination with clinicians and payers. For individuals in the U.S. who meet eligibility and medical necessity requirements, Medicare covers qualifying personal exoskeletons under its brace benefit category, billed under HCPCS code K1007. With greater scale, the combined company will advocate for broader coverage worldwide.
In addition to its medical exoskeletons, Wandercraft also applies its robotics expertise to industrial humanoid systems, including the Calvin-40, a powerful autonomous humanoid designed for heavy lifting and difficult-to-staff work. The combination of these technologies and the integration of Ekso Bionics' products and expertise will enable the company to develop and deploy technologies that make a meaningful difference for more people.
The boards of directors of Wandercraft and ChronoScale Holdings Corporation unanimously approved the transaction, which was signed and closed simultaneously. Financial terms were not disclosed.
