UNN and Vobile Inc. Sign AI Factory Deal in Brunei Darussalam

On September 3, 2026, UNN and Vobile Inc. signed strategic cooperation and commercial agreements to establish AI factories in Brunei Darussalam, a move that underscores the two organizations' commitment to boosting the country’s digital economy.

At the signing ceremony, held at UNN’s Tungku Submarine Cable Landing Station, Christopher Phan, Acting Chief Executive Officer of UNN, and Yangbin Wang, Chief Executive Officer of Vobile Inc., sealed the partnership. Present at the event was Yang Mulia Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abd Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Infocommunications) of the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, and a UNN Board Director.

Heiko Trost, Chief Digital Officer of UNN, highlighted the significance of the partnership. “Developing AI-ready infrastructure is crucial for the future growth of Brunei’s digital economy,” he said. “We view this as a partnership built on shared ambition, innovation, and mutual success. Together, we can create meaningful value for Brunei and strengthen its digital capabilities.”

Ben Smith, Executive Vice President of Vobile Inc., emphasized the company’s role in transforming the creative industry through AI. “Our DreamMaker platform helps film and television studios, independent producers, and creators leverage AI technologies to generate new revenue streams while protecting their intellectual property,” he explained. “By combining UNN’s infrastructure with Vobile’s AI capabilities, we can help establish Brunei as a leading AI economy in Southeast Asia and drive sustainable economic growth.”

Under the agreements, UNN’s new AI-capable data center, equipped with liquid cooling and high power density to support NVIDIA’s latest GPU systems, will allocate 25MW of capacity to Vobile. An additional 25MW is reserved for future expansion, enabling Vobile to run AI factories that will scale its DreamMaker platform and related services to meet the growing demand from clients including film and television studios, independent producers, and content creators.
