LOS ANGELES, Oct. 26, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Truelink Capital, a private equity firm based in Los Angeles, has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the global intrusion products business of Johnson Controls. This acquisition, expected to close in the first half of calendar year 2027, marks a significant move for Truelink and signals its continued focus on the industrials and business services sectors.
The global intrusion products business, which includes some of the most trusted brands in the security industry such as DSC, Qolsys, PowerG, Visonic, Bentel, and Sur-Gard, has roots dating back to 1973. This business was built through Tyco's acquisitions of DSC and Visonic and became part of Johnson Controls through its 2016 merger with Tyco. With a strong presence across North America, Latin America, EMEA, and APAC, the business serves a broad network of dealers, integrators, distributors, and service providers.
Truelink Capital, with over $4.3 billion of assets under management, aims to transform the business into an independent, standalone company. The firm plans to invest significantly in next-generation panels, sensors, communicators, and interactive platforms, as well as expand engineering capacity, brand and channel programs, and target expansion into adjacent and international markets.
This transaction follows Truelink's 2024 acquisition of Air Distribution Technologies, Inc., another Johnson Controls carve-out. As a standalone company, the business will have dedicated leadership, faster decision cycles, and a capital structure built for growth, allowing it to bring new products to market more quickly and pursue opportunities that were previously outside the scope of a diversified corporate portfolio.
Johnson Controls, a global leader in thermal management, mission-critical building systems, energy efficiency, and decarbonization, will retain its focus on these core areas. The company has been a pioneer in these fields for over 140 years, delivering performance where it really matters and helping customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in rapidly expanding industries such as data centers, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, advanced manufacturing, and higher education.
The acquisition is expected to provide Truelink Capital with a robust portfolio of trusted security brands and a strong market presence, setting the stage for accelerated growth and innovation in the security industry.
