CLEVELAND, Oct. 26, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Metropolitan at The 9, a historic hotel in downtown Cleveland, Ohio, has unveiled an extensive renovation that encompasses all 156 guestrooms and suites, 10 guestroom corridors, the main lobby, elevator lobbies and cabs, and the Ledger Bar. The project, which began earlier this year, is expected to be completed by November 5, 2026.

Inside the guestrooms, the hotel has replaced carpet with engineered hardwood flooring, complemented by new area rugs, mattresses, and soft seating. Custom desks, nightstands, and minibars feature light wood finishes with white quartz countertops that have subtle gold veining. Updated vanities and wood slat wall treatments add a touch of warmth, while chevron tile at the minibars and oversized mirrors enhance the texture and comfort of the rooms. The original guestroom headboards, inspired by the window detailing on the building's exterior, remain a defining feature, connecting the refreshed interiors to the hotel's architectural history.

Inspired by Cleveland, the newly selected artwork features landmarks and local imagery, providing guests with a deeper connection to the city. The arrival experience is centered around a new, single welcome desk and a stone feature wall with geometric wood detailing. Fluted wood paneling, refreshed furnishings, and new area rugs complete the lobby updates. Elevator cabs have been updated with new flooring, faux stone panels, wood slats, and mirrors. The Ledger Bar has been transformed with a custom bar and backbar, including 45 linear feet of new bar millwork, along with updated seating.

The renovation spans more than 100,000 square feet and includes over 300 pieces of new art, approximately 2,500 yards of fabric, and 147 custom sofas and loveseats for the guestrooms. Local companies, including Burton Station Fixture Company and National Design Mart, contributed to the project by custom fabricating millwork for the guestrooms, lobby, and Ledger Bar. Mont Granite supplied stone for the lobby welcome desk and wall, while Big Picture Cleveland handled custom artwork, framing, and installation. Local upholsterers worked on lobby benches and leather column wraps, and guestroom soft seating was made in Valdese, North Carolina.

The hotel, which features 20,000 square feet of unique event space, including The Mint Ballroom and Alex Theater, offers dining at The Centro, a place to enjoy hand-cut steaks, house-made pasta, and brick oven Neapolitan pizza. Tucked above the lobby, Ledger Bar is an intimate lounge made for conversation, craft cocktails, and people-watching. Unwind with a handcrafted cocktail at Eden Rooftop Lounge while enjoying views of the downtown cityscape from the boutique hotel in Cleveland. The century-old bank vaults beneath the Cleveland Trust Rotunda are home to a luxury cocktail lounge, The Vault, where you can enjoy hand-crafted libations fashioned by resident mixologists.

The Metropolitan at The 9, Autograph Collection Hotel, is a century-old bank that has been transformed into a modern boutique hotel. Nestled amidst the excitement of downtown Cleveland, the hotel features 156 beautifully appointed hotel rooms designed to engage and inspire. The renovation brings a fresh level of comfort and detail to the hotel while keeping the character that makes it special.
