TriStar Bank Donates Community Room to Columbia State

COLUMBIA, Tenn., Sept. 4, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- On the first floor of Columbia State Community College's new Southern Regional Technology Center (SRTC), the TriStar Bank Community Room stands as a testament to the bank's commitment to the community and its future leaders. The TriStar Bank Community Room is one of several named spaces within the SRTC, a modern facility that opened in August with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The center aims to provide Columbia State students with the necessary skills and technology to excel in careers in high-demand fields across the region. This investment is part of a larger $2.5 billion state initiative to enhance public education.

According to TriStar Bank President Ted Williams, the bank's support for the Community Room goes beyond just naming a space. "We are honored to be part of this project and to contribute to a place where the community can gather and students can work on skills that will benefit our entire community," Williams stated.

Columbia State Community College Vice President for Advancement Bethany Lay highlighted the importance of community support, noting that the facility's named spaces reflect the generosity of donors and organizations. "It's their support that made this all possible," Lay said.

The Southern Regional Technology Center serves as a hub for workforce development, offering educational opportunities in technology, healthcare, and industrial careers. Columbia State President Janet F. Smith emphasized that the new facility enhances the college's mission to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed for meaningful careers. Addison McCormack, a first-year radiology student, sees the TriStar Bank Community Room as a valuable resource. "It's a great place to focus and study between classes," she said. Similarly, second-year respiratory therapy student Richard Martin views the SRTC as a valuable addition for students preparing for healthcare careers.

Founded in 2000, TriStar Bank has grown to manage over $500 million in assets and continues to prioritize strong relationships, local decision-making, and community involvement. The bank supports organizations throughout Middle Tennessee through volunteerism, financial education, and community engagement.
