CLEVELAND, Oct. 26, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Thunder Baseball, a Cleveland-area 501(c)(3) youth baseball organization, has launched a unique fundraising campaign called "Play Catch Around the World." The initiative aims to raise funds to send the Thunder 12U team to Cooperstown, New York, the home of baseball.

The campaign, accessible at playcatcharoundtheworld.com, invites participants from around the globe to join in a continuous game of catch. Each participant records a video of 15 seconds or less, catching a ball from the right and throwing it to the left. These clips are then compiled into a seamless carousel, with each throw contributing to the team's journey to Cooperstown.

Coach Peter Chisholm, a Thunder Baseball coach and parent, expressed his enthusiasm for the campaign. "I love this team," he said.

The website is open to anyone who has ever tossed a ball, regardless of age or ability. Players, parents, grandparents, coaches, alumni, local businesses, and baseball fans from other states and countries are all invited to participate. A suggested $5 donation accompanies each video, which can be made through Thunder Baseball's secure donation page.

Participants are encouraged to record a clip, upload it at playcatcharoundtheworld.com, and challenge friends and family to continue the game. The website also allows supporters to challenge their favorite ball clubs or players to join in and keep the ball moving.

Thunder Baseball is dedicated to developing young players both on and off the field. Funds raised through the Play Catch Around the World campaign will support the 12U team's travel, lodging, and tournament costs in Cooperstown. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

The organization hopes that this innovative fundraising method will not only raise the necessary funds but also foster a sense of community and shared passion for the sport. By playing catch around the world, participants can contribute to a meaningful cause and support the growth and development of young baseball players.
