TORONTO, Oct. 20, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The SustainabilityX® Magazine has unveiled its 10th anniversary edition, marking a significant milestone with the 5th Annual Global 50 Women In Sustainability Awards™ 2026. This special edition, which recognizes 100 women leaders in sustainability, was launched on October 20, 2026, coinciding with Munich Climate Week.

The awards aim to highlight the diverse contributions of women across various sectors, including climate, business, finance, policy, governance, science, technology, Indigenous leadership, education, media, philanthropy, circular economy, food systems, health, advocacy, entrepreneurship, and community-led change. This year’s theme underscores the resilience and courage required to lead in a world facing climate disruption, geopolitical instability, social polarization, economic uncertainty, and attacks on equity and inclusion.

The book, launched in March 2026, features nine women leading in climate science, governance, business, media, advocacy, and the arts, including Helle Bank Jorgensen, Roberta Boscolo, Honourable Rosa Galvez, Tensie Whelan, Dr. Shawna Pandya, Sylvia Yu Friedman, Dr. Dianne Saxe, Dr. Deborah Rosati, and Verma herself. The second half of the book delves into the global backlash against DEI and ESG policies, offering strategies and solutions for navigating these challenges.

The 2026 Global 50 Women In Sustainability Awards™ were released digitally on October 20, 2026, at 9:00 AM EST. The digital launch included a main awards page, detailed profiles of the awardees, select reflections on the theme, and social media spotlights. The event also received support from climate week partners, media partners, and organizations committed to advancing women's leadership in sustainability.

The awards reflect the magazine’s commitment to spotlighting women whose leadership advances sustainability, climate action, governance, social impact, innovation, equity, and systems change.

The SustainabilityX® Magazine, founded in 2016, has grown into a female-founded, digital, independent, non-profit platform focused on bringing the environment and economy together through dialogue. Over the past decade, the magazine has increasingly centered women's leadership as essential to sustainability transformation. The 2026 edition marks a significant moment in the magazine’s history, celebrating the contributions of women to sustainability and the urgent need to amplify more voices across sectors and regions.

By recognizing 100 women leading sustainability forward, the awards aim to inspire and support the next generation of sustainability leaders. The theme of the awards, "Leading in an Age of Resistance," serves as a powerful reminder that sustainability leadership is central to building a more just, resilient, and sustainable future.
