Sunseeker Unveils 2027 LiDAR Models and Smart Garden Ecosystem

BERLIN, Sunseeker, a global leader in intelligent lawn care, has unveiled a groundbreaking lineup of 2027 LiDAR models and introduced a new Smart Garden ecosystem, marking a significant shift in the company’s product offerings and strategic direction. The new products, unveiled at IFA 2026, signify Sunseeker’s move from standalone mowers to a connected, adaptive outdoor ecosystem that leverages advanced robotics and AI.
At the heart of Sunseeker’s new lineup are five all-new 2027 LiDAR products, designed to offer seamless integration and precise operation in a variety of garden settings. The S7 LiDAR Ultra AWD 3000 and S5 LiDAR Ultra Pro AWD 1800 models feature AllSense™ 3.0, which uses 360° LiDAR to autonomously map and navigate the working environment. These models, along with the S3 LiDAR Series, are equipped with solid-state LiDAR and are engineered to deliver precise perception and reliable navigation across diverse garden environments. The S7’s advanced AWD system can handle slopes of up to 80%, ensuring that even the most challenging lawns can be managed with ease. All five models offer wire-free and antenna-free installation, providing centimeter-level navigation for gardens ranging from 500 to 3,000 square meters. Availability for these products begins in February 2027.
The S7 model is designed for large and complex lawns, featuring an Extension Hub that supports accessories like the EdgeZero trimmer head, enabling precise edge-to-edge cutting. The S5 model brings advanced intelligence to medium and large family gardens, while the S3 Series provides wireless precision for smaller and sloped lawns. Sunseeker’s perception technology, which recognizes over 360 types of obstacles, helps mowers detect and respond to objects more accurately, reducing the risk of collisions and enhancing user safety.
Sunseeker has also introduced the Smart Garden ecosystem, which connects robotic mowers, rain gauges, soil sensors, and future autonomous robots into a unified intelligence network. This ecosystem is built on the principles of Sense, Understand, and Recommend, continuously monitoring rainfall, soil, lawn health, and environmental conditions. By leveraging onboard Vision AI, multi-modal sensor fusion, and cloud-based AI models, it transforms data into actionable insights, providing users with real-time garden management recommendations. For example, when yellow grass is detected, AI can help determine whether it is caused by drought or pests, and recommend appropriate watering or pest control measures.
Terry Ma, CEO of Sunseeker, emphasized the company’s commitment to leading the evolution of outdoor care through AI and robotics. He noted, “AI will redefine the entire outdoor-care industry. As we progress from L3 toward L4 and L5, human involvement in outdoor work will continue to decline, helping address labor shortages and population aging.”
Sunseeker has also unveiled its FSA (Flexible Supervised Autonomy Outdoors) technology roadmap, which aims to progressively reduce human intervention in outdoor care. Prof. Dr. Alan Akbik, a Professor of Machine Learning at Humboldt University of Berlin, has contributed to this roadmap, which charts a clear path forward from the current L3 Smart Garden stage to the ultimate goal of L5 Supervised Autonomous Outdoors.
To support its growth, Sunseeker has seen a threefold increase in revenue in 2026, driven by 14 products across 40 countries under its dual-brand strategy. The company’s retail network has expanded significantly, growing from approximately 1,500 points of sale in 2025 to about 5,000 in 2026, supported by partnerships with leading retailers, e-commerce platforms, and regional distributors across Europe and the U.S. Sunseeker is also expanding its presence through partnerships with national teams and major sports clubs, including the French Football Federation, SV Werder Bremen, Mantova 1911, IFK Göteborg, F.C. Copenhagen, and the Philadelphia Phillies, strengthening its connection with local communities beyond product sales.
MapOS™, Sunseeker’s industry-first 3D Semantic Map, further enhances the user experience by integrating AI semantic understanding to transform visual information into a digital garden representation. This real-scene map provides a clear view of the garden, enabling users to fine-tune boundaries, designate no-go and safe zones, and customize mowing settings directly on the map. For large or complex gardens, this intelligent map reduces unnecessary remapping and manual intervention, delivering a more effortless lawn-care experience.
