BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Sept. 30, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Storyteller Overland, a vehicle manufacturer launched in 2018 by a dedicated group of automotive and outdoor enthusiasts, has unveiled its latest creation: the GEAR MODE. This adventure van, built on the Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 2500 AWD platform, is designed for those who need their gear wherever they go.
The GEAR MODE offers three trim levels: STR, ADV, and MAX. Each trim level is built around two key ideas: GearWall™, which opens the rear of the van into a full cargo bay, and GearShift™, a modular panel system that reconfigures the interior into four distinct settings, Gear, Bed, Bench, and Table. This flexibility allows users to store their equipment, relax, and work, all while maintaining a comfortable living space.
The STR trim level is the clean, capable foundation, riding on BFG KO3 all-terrain tires with prewiring for KC HiLites 360 lighting. The ADV trim adds an nVader roof rack and grab rails, an nVader ladder and rear rack, a manual awning, a second soft storage cabinet, an upgraded wheel and tire package, and a second Lithionics battery. The MAX trim is built for the hardest trails, with the Evictus Advanced Kit, a KC HiLites 360 lighting package, an nVader rear rack with spare tire bucket, an nVader brush guard, and no-rub fenders and flares.
GEAR MODE is equipped with a Lithionics power system in 4kWh or 8kWh configurations (upgradeable to 11.9kWh), a high-output auxiliary alternator, a 2000W inverter, and prewiring for up to 1,500W of solar. This setup ensures that everything runs smoothly, even off the grid. A diesel-fired hydronic heat, a 12V rooftop air conditioner, a 20-gallon fresh water tank, and an exterior shower round out the amenities, making extended trips comfortable and convenient.
