FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept. 3, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- SpineFrontier has been cleared of all criminal charges after a long-standing federal investigation, according to a recent corporate clarification issued by KIC Ventures. The move marks the end of a decade-long legal saga that began in 2015 when three former SpineFrontier employees raised concerns about the company's relationships with surgeon consultants.
On January 17, 2025, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) officially dismissed all criminal charges against SpineFrontier, resolving a significant legal issue for the company. KIC Ventures, which has a portfolio of companies, confirmed that none of its other portfolio companies pleaded guilty to any criminal charges arising from the case, and no other portfolio company is currently involved in ongoing DOJ litigation.
The clarification highlights that former Chief Financial Officer Aditya Humad had a separate resolution to his individual criminal case. Humad has since fully severed ties with KIC Ventures and its affiliated companies, holding no current employment, management, or ownership positions.
KIC Ventures stated that the incident led to significant changes in the company’s operations. "We added outside compliance counsel and formal legal review of physician interactions, agreements, and related compliance processes. Compliance oversight is now built directly into how we operate and grow," said a spokesperson for KIC Ventures.
The company emphasized that despite the resolution, older reports and allegations continue to circulate, which may mislead customers, physicians, and investors. The clarification aims to provide accurate information to stakeholders and the public.
"This context is important because customers, physicians, and investors may continue to encounter older reports describing the original allegations and charges without the subsequent disposition of the case," the statement added.
With the dismissal of charges, SpineFrontier and KIC Ventures are now focused on moving forward with enhanced compliance measures and continued operations.
