COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, October 22, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Sparrow Quantum, a company developing deterministic photonic technology for scalable quantum systems, has announced a significant leadership transition. Founder and quantum technology pioneer Professor Peter Lodahl has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), taking over from Kurt Stokbro, who will remain involved as an Executive Advisor and board member.
Lodahl, known for his research in photonic quantum technology, will lead Sparrow Quantum into its next phase of technical development. The company has already developed and delivered its quantum photonic chip technology and is now focusing on integrating, controlling, and connecting reliable quantum light within larger computing systems. This move is crucial as Sparrow Quantum aims to address the barriers to scalable fault-tolerant photonic quantum computing.
Stokbro, an early investor who played a pivotal role in building the company, will continue to contribute his experience as an Executive Advisor.

The company has also bolstered its leadership team by adding Anne-Marie Engtoft Meldgaard as Chief Commercial Officer and promoting Larissa Vertchenko to Chief Technology & Operations Officer. Andreas Olesen has been appointed as Vice President of Finance. Together, the team combines scientific leadership with commercial, operational, and financial expertise.
