WASHINGTON, Sept. 23, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- The Hearing Industries Association and the Hearing Loss Association of America have launched a new public engagement campaign called "Sounds of America," aiming to celebrate the unique sounds that define communities across the United States and raise awareness of hearing health. The initiative, which runs for eight weeks, invites Americans to share the sounds that are most meaningful to their hometowns and communities. Participants are encouraged to reflect on the sounds that connect them to their places of residence, from the waves crashing along the shoreline to the cheers from a hometown stadium.

The campaign, spearheaded by the Hearing Industries Association (HIA) and the Hearing Loss Association of America (HLAA), seeks to inspire people to acknowledge and cherish the sounds that make up their communities. The HIA, a forum for companies in the hearing aid industry, and HLAA, the leading consumer organization representing millions of people with hearing loss, are collaborating to promote greater awareness of hearing health.

The HIA, established in 1955, is a trusted voice in the hearing health care sector, focusing on product innovation, public policy, patient safety, and education. HLAA, founded in 1979, advocates for access to communication and health care treatment at both national and local levels, while building community through its network of HLAA Chapters, State Organizations, and Walk4Hearing events.

Through the "Sounds of America" campaign, the HIA and HLAA hope to make conversations about hearing health more relatable and personal. By sharing their unique sounds, participants can help reduce the stigma associated with seeking treatment or using hearing aids. The HIA and HLAA will share stories and perspectives from industry leaders and videos submitted by Americans across the country, highlighting the personal sounds that connect people to their homes.

The campaign encourages participants to share their responses on social media using the hashtag #SoundsofAmerica. The public is also invited to tag friends and family members to share the sounds that are meaningful to them.

The HIA and HLAA will showcase these submissions throughout the campaign, providing a platform for people to connect with one another and share their experiences. The campaign aims to foster a broader conversation about the importance of hearing health, encouraging individuals to seek help for any changes they notice in their hearing.

The HIA and HLAA are committed to making hearing health a topic of conversation and understanding, and the "Sounds of America" campaign is a significant step in achieving this goal. By celebrating the sounds that define communities, the initiative seeks to promote greater awareness of hearing health and reduce the stigma associated with seeking treatment or using hearing aids.
