LINKÖPING, Sweden, Sept. 4, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- International medical imaging IT and cybersecurity company Sectra (STO: SECT B) has achieved a significant milestone, with its cloud services generating more than SEK 1 billion in recurring revenue for the first time, measured on a rolling 12-month basis. This remarkable achievement comes as the company has seen strong order bookings and ongoing investments in cloud infrastructure and customer support.

For the first quarter of 2026, ending in July, Sectra reported a 46.6% decrease in contracted order bookings to SEK 699 million from SEK 1,310 million in the same period last year. However, a substantial portion of these bookings, SEK 598 million, was deemed guaranteed. Of these guaranteed bookings, 22.2% were recognized in the quarter, with an additional 30-40% expected to contribute to revenue within the next 12 months.

Net sales for the quarter increased by 25.8% to SEK 963 million, a rise of 26.6% when adjusted for exchange rates. The majority of this growth, SEK 723 million, was attributed to recurring revenue, up 31.7%. Cloud recurring revenue, specifically, surged by 75.3% to SEK 315 million. Operating profit saw a significant boost, increasing 60.9% to SEK 191 million, with an operating margin of 19.8%, up from 15.5% in the same period last year. The improvement was partly due to SEK 24 million in costs for share-based incentive programs.

Profit for the period amounted to SEK 158 million, up from SEK 103 million. Cash flow from operations was SEK 3 million, a decrease from SEK 118 million, largely due to increased capital tied up in current receivables and the settlement of liabilities.

"Torbjörn Kronander, President and CEO of Sectra AB, commented, 'The growing use of our services had a positive impact on our earnings and profitability during the first quarter. This outcome reflects the effects of our strong order bookings in recent years as well as our long-term investments in delivering, deploying, and scaling up cloud services for a growing number of customers.'"

Kronander continued, "The increase in the number of customers using our solutions in their daily operations has strengthened our recurring revenue base. While these investments can impact costs and profitability for individual periods, they are essential for meeting customer needs and capitalizing on the long-term opportunities provided by our strong order book and market position."
