Samsar Resources, a company based in Sugar Land, Texas, has launched a new battery-as-a-service leasing program aimed at enhancing the operational efficiency of mobility fleets. The program, designed to cater to a variety of vehicles including golf carts and bikeshare systems, offers a flexible leasing solution that can help fleet managers and original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) conserve working capital.
Guillermo Garcia, the CEO of Samsar Resources, explained that the decision to launch this leasing program was driven by the feedback from fleet managers who prioritized cash flow over the superior performance of lithium-ion batteries.
Samsar Resources, known for its unique partnership with Nissan, has an extensive catalogue of products for various applications, including golf carts, bikeshare, trucking, marine, and recreational vehicles. The company's batteries are designed for easy remanufacturing, ensuring that any battery returned to Samsar will be thoroughly checked, tested, and quickly refurbished for non-mobility use cases. This approach supports organizations that prioritize sustainability by leveraging Samsar's circular supply chain.
The new leasing program, in partnership with Farnam Street SF, offers brand new lithium-ion batteries on lease terms ranging from 24 to 60 months, depending on the vehicle type. Samsar's leasing program is designed to ensure that customer fleets can maximize their uptime and always have access to the best-in-class energy storage technology. Upon the conclusion of the leasing term, customers have two options: they can purchase the battery at a predetermined price or extend the lease for a longer term.
The program is particularly beneficial for electric mobility organizations that want to grow quickly without the need to source, purchase, and maintain large inventories of batteries. Companies of all sizes can focus on serving their customers with the peace of mind that a replacement battery is only a phone call away.
