Sage Potash Corp. has announced significant findings at its Sage Plain Potash Project in Utah, highlighting the potential for a high-grade potash deposit. The company's drilling operations at the Peterson 1 site have uncovered sections grading better than 50.0% KCl within the Upper and Lower Cycle 18 potash beds.
Notably, the Upper Cycle 18 potash horizon includes a 10.8-foot (3.3 m) section grading 52.5% KCl and a 3.3-foot (1.0 m) section grading 52.0% KCl, both within a 26.6-foot (8.1 m) thick intersection that also grades 36.1% KCl. Additionally, a 10.1-foot (3.1 m) section in the Lower Cycle 18 potash bed, grading 53.4% KCl, is found within a 16.4-foot (5.0 m) thick intersection that grades 36.4% KCl. These findings confirm the continuity and high-grade tenor of the deposit, making it one of the highest-grade deposits around the world.
Varas further noted that the combined grade and thickness of 36.3% over 43 feet (13.1 m) for the whole of Cycle 18 confirm the deposit's potential. The results also show remarkable continuity between the recently completed Peterson 1 hole and the previous Johnson 1 hole, located 0.62 miles (1.0 km) to the south. This continuity supports the potential for a larger-scale development than the 300,000 tonnes per year contemplated in the September 8, 2025 Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA).
The Peterson 1 hole was sited 0.62 miles (1.0 km) to the north-northeast of the previously drilled Johnson 1 hole to facilitate both resource expansion and delineation. Core from the Cycle 18 Upper and Lower zones was recovered and transported to the Saskatchewan Research Council laboratories in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, for geochemical analysis. The assays confirm attractive potash bed thicknesses and grades, demonstrating the high-grade tenor of the mineralization in this part of the Paradox Basin.
Sage Potash plans to use these results to update the project resources. An updated National Instrument 43-101 resource estimate is scheduled to be delivered in the next 45 days. The company is also engaging RESPEC LLC to perform the NI 43-101 resource calculation based on the inclusion of the Peterson 1 drill hole information.
