JUST Completes Fifth JST Buyback and Burn

On October 17, JUST, the leading DeFi infrastructure in the TRON ecosystem, completed its fifth JST buyback and burn, marking a significant milestone in the project's history. Over 170 million JST tokens, valued at approximately $23.53 million, were burned in this round, representing about 1.72% of the total supply. This buyback and burn is part of a routine quarterly process, aimed at deflationary upgrades that strengthen the token's value.
Since its launch in October 2025, the JST buyback and burn mechanism has been a cornerstone of the project's strategy. Over the past year, a total of approximately 1.881 billion JST tokens have been burned, driving the cumulative deflation rate past 19% and deploying over $100 million in capital from JustLend DAO's revenue. This consistent execution has transformed the buyback from a short-term marketing tactic into a permanent value engine, reinforcing the project's commitment to long-term economic sustainability.
The fifth round of the buyback and burn was funded entirely by JustLend DAO's net operating income, which includes two components: the remaining $10.34 million from the existing income and the $9.28 million QoQ increase in Q3's net income. JustLend DAO's Q3 net income remained steady, consistently anchored at the eight-figure ($10 million+) level, reflecting the ecosystem's core revenue streams' resilience.
This continuous execution has had a profound impact on the JST token's price and market cap. CoinGecko data shows JST climbing steadily from its initial value of around $0.03 to an October 10 peak of $0.142, marking a 300% year-to-date surge and a new high since 2022. The circulating market cap has surged past $1 billion, validating the mechanism through synchronized gains in both token price and market cap.
With the successful completion of the first phase, the JST buyback program now sets the stage for a major mechanism upgrade. The initial phase, which operated primarily on JustLend DAO's accumulated treasury reserves and increment in quarterly net revenue, has now fully deployed the $59 million+ reserve earmarked at inception. This signifies that the first phase has achieved its objectives, clearing the path for the comprehensive upgrade.
The upgraded phase will broaden capital sources by incorporating revenues from new business streams such as GasFree, providing deeper and more diversified funding for ongoing buybacks. This will ensure that the buyback program enters an even more sustainable and predictable cycle, further enhancing the token's deflationary momentum and value-return capabilities.
In summary, the fifth JST buyback and burn marks a significant milestone for JUST, reinforcing its commitment to long-term economic sustainability and value creation. As the project moves into the next phase, stakeholders can expect a more diversified and robust buyback mechanism, ensuring continued growth and stability for the JST token.
