Rothman Orthopaedics to Sponsor Philadelphia Ballet's The Nutcracker Through 2026

Philadelphia Ballet and Rothman Orthopaedics have joined forces, with the orthopedic practice becoming the exclusive Presenting Sponsor of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker® for 34 public performances at the Academy of Music through December 31, 2026.
"This partnership is particularly meaningful to me because dance has been a part of my family's life for years," said Alexander R. Vaccaro, MD, PhD, MBA, President of Rothman Orthopaedics and Richard H. Rothman Professor and Chairman of the Department of Orthopaedics at Thomas Jefferson University. "I've seen firsthand the incredible athleticism, discipline, and dedication that this art form demands. Dancers push their bodies to perform at the highest level, and we're proud to support the extraordinary talent and artistry that make this institution such an important part of Philadelphia."
"We are proud to welcome Rothman Orthopaedics as the presenting sponsor of George Balanchine's The Nutcracker® and as a proud partner of Philadelphia Ballet," said Shelly Power, the Carolyn Newsom, Ph.D., Endowed Chief Executive Officer of Philadelphia Ballet. "The Nutcracker is one of our most beloved traditions, bringing together generations of families and audiences from across the region. We are grateful to have Rothman alongside us in celebrating the artistry, athleticism, and joy of our dancers."
Through the partnership, Rothman will have a prominent presence across Philadelphia Ballet's live, digital, and community platforms. As Presenting Sponsor of all 34 performances of The Nutcracker, Rothman will receive significant visibility at the Academy of Music and across Philadelphia Ballet's digital channels. The partnership will also include branding along the Avenue of the Arts, print and digital content, social media activation, and a signature campaign featuring Philadelphia Ballet dancers.
"Philadelphia Ballet is one of our city's premier cultural institutions, and we're proud to support the extraordinary artists who inspire audiences season after season," said Christian Ellison, Chief Executive Officer of Rothman Orthopaedics. "This partnership reflects our commitment to supporting the Philadelphia community and celebrating the organizations, people, and performances that make our region such a special place to live, work, and thrive."
"Ballet dancers are among the most disciplined and physically demanding athletes in the world, and their ability to perform at the highest level depends on strength, conditioning, and exceptional care of their bodies," said Angel Corella, the Ruth & A. Morris Williams, Jr. Artistic Director of Philadelphia Ballet. "Having a partner like Rothman Orthopaedics, with such deep expertise in musculoskeletal health and a shared understanding of what it takes to achieve excellence, is incredibly meaningful to our dancers and our entire company. We are proud to partner with Rothman as we bring the magic of The Nutcracker to Philadelphia audiences this season."
