Rhoads & Rhoads secure $1M settlement for motorcycle crash victim

The victim, who remains anonymous, suffered catastrophic injuries that significantly impacted his quality of life. Upon arrival, Ohio County EMS found him unconscious and in need of CPR. He was immediately airlifted to the Deaconess Health System Hospital trauma center in Evansville, Indiana. The extent of his injuries was extensive, including a traumatic brain injury, spinal fractures, respiratory failure, and multiple fractures, among others. His condition was so severe that he required months of hospitalization and rehabilitation.

Neuropsychological evaluations revealed that the client's cognitive performance fell in the moderately impaired range, with significant deficits in attention, memory, and executive functioning. He was diagnosed with Major Neurocognitive Disorder due to Traumatic Brain Injury and found to be unsafe to drive independently. The client, who previously lived independently and worked as a youth sports referee and umpire for the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA), is now confined to using a cane and requires assistance for daily activities.
