TORONTO, Oct. 28, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Real Canadian Superstore® and the Canadian Hockey League (CHL) have launched the sixth annual Jersey Design Contest, inviting young fans across 32 markets in Western, Ontario, and Quebec to design a jersey for their favorite team. The contest, which runs from October 22 to November 12, 2026, is open to eligible Canadian residents aged 16 and under. Participants can download a template for a participating club and submit their design through the contest website by 11 p.m. ET on November 12.

Since its launch in March 2021 with 25 participating markets, the program has grown to reach 32 communities across nine provinces. The contest not only allows young fans to turn their creativity into reality but also supports children across Canada through fundraising efforts. Each winner in one of the 32 participating markets will have their design brought to life as a jersey worn by their team during a special home game between January and March 2027. In addition to the honor of seeing their design on the ice, winners will receive a team-autographed jersey featuring their design and four tickets to their club’s designated game night. The game-worn jerseys will then be auctioned off, with all proceeds benefiting President’s Choice Children’s Charity®.

The contest has a rich history, having raised over $1 million for the charity through jersey auctions over its first five seasons. This year, the program aims to continue its positive impact by engaging more young fans and raising funds for children in need. Real Canadian Superstore®, Real Atlantic Superstore®, and Dominion® Stores in Newfoundland and Labrador will connect with fans at CHL game nights between January and March 2027 with in-arena booths, giveaways, and activities during TV timeouts. The season will culminate with the Memorial Cup in May 2027.

Real Canadian Superstore® is a division of Loblaw Companies Limited, a Canadian food and pharmacy leader with more than 2,800 locations. The company employs over 220,000 full- and part-time employees, providing Canadians with grocery, pharmacy, and healthcare services, other health and beauty products, apparel, general merchandise, financial services, and wireless mobile products and services. Loblaw’s purpose is to help Canadians live life well, and the Jersey Design Contest is one of many initiatives that align with this mission.

The Canadian Hockey League (CHL) is the world’s largest development hockey league, featuring 52 Canadian and nine American teams across the Western Hockey League (WHL), Ontario Hockey League (OHL), and Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League (QMJHL). The CHL supplies more players to the National Hockey League (NHL) than any other league and supports student-athletes through significant investment in education and scholarship programs. During the 2025-26 NHL season, nearly 475 CHL alumni were among the 1,038 players to appear in at least one game. At the 2026 NHL Draft, 106 CHL-developed players were selected, marking the CHL’s highest total since 2010, including 16 first-round picks.

The contest has a track record of bringing young fans’ imaginations and hometown pride to the ice. For example, during the 2025-26 season, Remy Maldre’s Halifax Mooseheads jersey featured the city’s Old Town Clock, inspired by walks to games with his parents. Natalie Hamilton, 11, created an ice cream-themed jersey for the Saskatoon Blades, while six-year-old Maxim designed pink and orange jerseys for the Sudbury Wolves’ Family Day game.
