Pre-registrations for Global Sources Hong Kong Shows up 25% this year
HONG KONG – Pre-registrations for the upcoming Global Sources Hong Kong Shows, scheduled from October 11 to 21, 2026, at AsiaWorld-Expo, have seen a significant increase. The event, expected to draw over 4,200 suppliers across more than 8,000 booths, will showcase over 330,000 new products in categories such as consumer electronics, video games, mobile electronics, smart home, lifestyle electronics, and outdoor sports. This year, the number of pre-registrations from professional buyers has risen by 25 percent compared to the previous year, with Europe and North America leading the growth.
"The Global Sources Hong Kong Shows will highlight the full spectrum of manufacturing and innovation in Asia, from well-established brands to emerging ones," said John Kao, Vice President of Global Sources. "New features like the 'Best of Innovation Awards' exhibition and the 'Future-Tech Discovery Zone' enable buyers to validate trends, inspect samples, and place orders in one visit."
The first phase, from October 11 to 14, will focus on consumer electronics and video games, featuring over 2,100 exhibitors and more than 4,000 booths. The hybrid workspace ecosystem will be a key highlight, with over 1,600 booths dedicated to computer accessories and more than 500 dedicated to gaming peripherals. The global market for hybrid workplace electronics is expected to grow from $28.5 billion in 2025 to $52.4 billion by 2031. Additionally, tightening European regulations, such as the Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542), which mandates digital product passports (DPP) for certain battery-equipped products starting February 18, 2027, and the implementation of DPPs for electronic devices under the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) directive, will play a crucial role. The electrical supply area will feature products from suppliers already preparing to comply with the DPP regulations, helping buyers mitigate risks related to certification and customs procedures.
The second phase, from October 18 to 21, will cover mobile electronics, smart homes, security, appliances, consumer electronics, outdoor sports, and more. Artificial intelligence will be a major theme, with over 1,200 booths dedicated to this sector across seven areas. Tencent AI will present its portfolio of agents (WorkBuddy, QClaw, Marvis) and equipment for the first time, and the AI Agent Summit will host the scientific director of Tencent and experts from the Linux Foundation. The show will also debut its first circular economy pavilion in partnership with the HKICEC. Exhibitors like Zhuan Zhuan, Aihuishou, and ecoATM will present certified second-hand phones compliant with European DEEE standards, along with a full range of related services.
