Pre-registrations for Global Sources Hong Kong Shows up 25% this year
HONGKONG – As the Global Sources Hong Kong Shows prepares to open its doors, organizers are celebrating a significant increase in pre-registrations from professional buyers. The event, set to take place from October 11 to 21, 2026, at the AsiaWorld-Expo, will welcome more than 4,200 suppliers across 8,000 booths, showcasing over 330,000 new products from the realms of entertainment electronics, gaming, mobile electronics, smart home, lifestyle electronics, and sports and outdoor gear.
"From established manufacturers to up-and-coming brands, the full spectrum of manufacturing and innovation in Asia will be on display," said John Kao, Vice President of Global Sources.
The pre-registrations from professional buyers have seen a 25% rise compared to the previous year, with Europe and North America leading the growth. This expansion indicates growing interest from buyers in these regions, reflecting the increasing importance of the Asian market.
Phase 1, which runs from October 11 to 14, will focus on entertainment electronics and gaming. Over 2,100 exhibitors and more than 4,000 booths will be on display, centered around the hybrid desktop ecosystem. This sector will feature over 1,600 booths for PC accessories and more than 500 for gaming peripherals, including brands such as CE-LINK, RXGAMER, Havit, and AULA. The global market for hybrid work hardware is projected to grow from $28.5 billion in 2025 to $52.4 billion by 2031, driven by stringent EU regulations. The Battery Regulation (EU 2023/1542) will mandate digital product passports (DPP) for certain battery products from February 18, 2027, with DPPs for electronic devices being phased in under the ESPR. This phase will feature selected products from suppliers who are already preparing to comply with these regulations, helping buyers minimize certification and customs risks.
Phase 2, from October 18 to 21, will encompass mobile electronics, smart home, security, household appliances, lifestyle electronics, sports, and outdoor gear. Artificial Intelligence (AI) will take center stage, with over 1,200 booths dedicated to the topic of AI in seven areas. Tencent AI will showcase its agent portfolio (WorkBuddy, QClaw, Marvis) and its hardware, while the AI Agent Summit will feature the Chief Scientist of Tencent and experts from the Linux Foundation. For the first time, a pavilion on circular economy will be opened in collaboration with the HKICEC, featuring Zhuan Zhuan, Aihuishou, and ecoATM, which will present certified used smartphones compliant with EU WEEE standards and offer comprehensive support services.
