LYNCHBURG, VA, UNITED STATES, October 19, 2026 /CourierPR/ -- Powerball® crowned its first Disc Golf Pro Tour champions in the inaugural Powerball Cup, which featured a record $350,000 purse. The championship concluded a successful first season for Powerball as the presenting partner of the Disc Golf Pro Tour (DGPT).

Silva Saarinen, from Oitti, Finland, and Gannon Buhr, from Urbandale, Iowa, emerged as the FPO (Females Professional Open) and MPO (Mixed Professional Open) champions, respectively. Both secured $50,000 first-place prizes, marking significant achievements in the sport's history.

The DGPT, which saw 23 tournaments spread across four countries and 18 states, attracted over 650 professional athletes from more than 25 countries. These athletes competed for points on the Powerball® DGPT World Standings and a spot at the season finale, the Powerball Cup.

Powerball's support extended beyond financial backing. The company invested in the Tour's infrastructure, enhanced fan experiences, and introduced new opportunities for fan participation. One such initiative was the Powerball® Ace promotion, which offered spectators a chance to throw an ace and win cash prizes. The promotion began with a $5,000 grand prize at the 2026 Supreme Flight Open and increased by $1,000 after each tournament stop. By the end of the season, the total prize pool had grown to $19,000, with an extra $1,000 added for the last Powerball Ace of the year. The season concluded with the Powerball Putt™, a thrilling Ring of Fire putting competition that served as the season finale.

Powerball's partnership with the DGPT aimed to strengthen the Tour and create new opportunities for athletes and fans.

Powerball® tickets cost $2 per play and are sold in 45 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, and the United Kingdom. Since 1992, Powerball has generated an estimated $38 billion for good causes, including education and scholarships, veteran services, parks and recreation, and more. The company's drawings are performed live every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m. ET from the Powerball draw studio in Florida. The overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 24.9, while the odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million. For more information, visit Powerball.com.
