Paulie Veneto's Push Returns to Honor 9/11 Anniversary

Paul 'Paulie' Veneto, the retired United Airlines flight attendant known for his 250-mile push with an airline beverage cart in 2021, is back to honor the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. This time, his journey is called "Everyone's Push," aiming to honor all those who lost their lives on that fateful day and in the years that followed.

Veneto’s push began on August 15, 2026, and follows a route that represents the flight paths of American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175, from Boston to New York City. This year, the push has been significantly expanded to include four additional airline beverage carts, allowing members of the public to join Veneto and the "Team Paulie" in the push.

The journey has already seen enthusiastic community participation. In Boston, police and fire officials shut down Newbury Street to accommodate the push, and in Connecticut, towns like Lebanon and Amston lined the Air Line Trail to support the effort. Veneto notes, "We've had mayors come out and push the carts in Connecticut, and in some places fire departments and police departments have taken turns handing the carts off to one another to keep all four going."

The push is set to culminate in New York City, specifically Ground Zero, on September 11, 2026. Veneto plans to start his journey in the Bronx, where he will participate in a media event and celebration. The route will take him through the Bronx, Manhattan, and Westchester County, with a NYPD escort ensuring safety and visibility for the public.

For the final leg, Veneto will travel down Broadway and into Ground Zero, bringing together individuals from various walks of life who have been personally affected by the 9/11 attacks. Veneto explains, "In the days after 9/11, America came together as a country in a way we haven't really seen since. It was an amazing time in our history, for a brief period, we all were one. Each year as I've pushed my cart, I've gotten to see a little glimmer of that again, and it gives me hope."

The push has also brought healing and support to those directly impacted by the attacks. Veneto adds, "Everyone's Push honors them all. Many of the people who come out to meet us have personal connections to the tragedies. This year, they've been able to. And the stories they share with me only get more personal as we get closer and closer to Ground Zero."

"Paulie's Push began as a tribute, but it's since turned into a movement," Veneto says. "We've been able to bring something to people affected by 9/11 who, I hope, might get healing from what we're doing. I can't wait to be back in New York, and I can't wait to see who comes to push these carts alongside me."

The 501c3 Non Profit Organization, Paulie's Push, has been tracking the push's progress and welcoming community members to participate. Veneto and his team are using GPS technology to allow the public to track the exact location of the push in real time, enabling supporters to join him at various points along the route.

As Veneto prepares to complete his journey, the push serves as a powerful reminder of the resilience and unity of the American people in the face of tragedy. The 25th anniversary of 9/11 will be marked not just by remembrance but by a renewed commitment to the values that united the nation in the aftermath of the attacks.
