Pacific Hospitality Group (PHG), a Southern California-based hospitality company with a portfolio of 11 hotels and resorts across four states, is expanding its presence in high-demand U.S. destinations through new development and strategic reinvestment in established properties. The company’s growth is underscored by the upcoming debut of Denū Hotel & Spa in Downtown Phoenix and the renewal of its agreement to operate Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach for an additional five years.
Denū Hotel & Spa, PHG’s newest addition to the Meritage Collection, is set to debut on September 21, 2026, as the first upscale urban retreat in Downtown Phoenix. Located within walking distance of the Phoenix Convention Center, Mortgage Matchup Center, and Chase Field, Denū will offer an approach to urban hospitality centered on ritual, renewal, and social connection. The hotel features 236 rooms and a rooftop pool, a Hammam-inspired spa, and thoughtfully designed spaces for guests and locals to gather.
Meanwhile, Paséa Hotel & Spa in Huntington Beach is celebrating its 10th anniversary and entering the final phase of a four-year, $17 million property-wide transformation. This includes an additional $12 million investment following approximately $5 million in enhancements completed in 2024. The transformation, led by Southern California-based design firm Stylo Haus, will introduce a comprehensive refresh of the resort’s 250 guestrooms and suites, as well as guest-facing spaces. Set to debut in 2027, the new accommodations will embrace a refined Southern California beach house aesthetic, incorporating layered natural materials, warm wood tones, custom woven textures, and a soothing palette of sandy neutrals and ocean blues. The renovation will also encompass the lobby, corridors, meeting and event spaces, Aarna Spa, and fitness center, with completion slated for early 2028.
Garrett Busch, President of Pacific Hospitality Group, stated, “Over nearly four decades, PHG has grown from a Southern California hospitality company into an owner and operator of 11 hotels and resorts across four states, representing more than 2,400 rooms. What has remained consistent is our approach, investing for the long term, looking for opportunities to create something distinctive, and staying closely connected to the destinations where we operate. Paséa is a strong example of that model, and Denū represents where we’re taking it next.”
Busch continued, “Long-term ownership gives us the ability to think beyond the next quarter or the next project and make decisions based on where we believe a property and its destination can go over time. That perspective has shaped our approach to Paséa from the beginning. We’re investing not simply to refresh the resort, but to ensure it continues to evolve and remain relevant to the travelers and community it serves.”
PHG’s growth strategy also includes the development and launch of distinctive hotels in markets with strong long-term demand. In addition to Denū, the company is celebrating significant milestones across its portfolio. AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown marks its 10th anniversary this year, while The Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa celebrates 20 years as a cornerstone of the Napa Valley hospitality landscape. In Austin, Hotel Viata marked its 10th anniversary in 2025, entering its second decade following a refresh and reintroduction under its current name in 2022. Together, these milestones reflect PHG’s approach to building lasting value across its portfolio, continuing to evolve established properties while maintaining the distinct character that connects each hotel to its destination.
