Optilogic Launches Pulsar for Smarter Supply Chain Decision Making

Optilogic, a leader in supply chain design and optimization, has launched Pulsar, a new demand engine that powers its Demand Modeling solution. This latest addition to the company’s platform aims to help executives make smarter, data-driven decisions by providing deeper insights into customer behavior and demand patterns.

Pulsar analyzes demand patterns, forecasts potential shifts, and offers what-if scenarios to reveal the customer behaviors driving revenue growth. According to Don Hicks, CEO of Optilogic, "The supply chain is always in motion, but so is the future. Historically, supply chains have taken the approach that demand is simply something to forecast and deliver on. That unsophisticated approach leads to static, thoughtless decisions. Instead, supply chain leaders must understand how future demand is changing and why those changes are occurring."

Pulsar’s hierarchical intelligence finds the real signal across product and location hierarchies, down to the individual SKU and location, giving executives a probabilistic range of outcomes. This allows them to make more informed decisions about inventory, production, and network management. Unlike traditional forecasting tools, Pulsar works with the existing forecast as additional input, enriching and cleansing the data automatically.

Ricardo Taborda dos Reis, Managing Partner at 7D Analytics, a supply chain consulting firm, noted, "For years, companies have had to choose between powerful tools that are too complex for day-to-day operations, or simple tools that can't handle the complexity of real demand. Pulsar, Optilogic's new Demand Modeling engine, is designed to give customers something genuinely different: powerful enough for decisions that matter, simple enough for any team member to use."

Optilogic claims that Pulsar has already proven its worth across various industries. Customers in automotive, consumer packaged goods, craft beverages, and specialty manufacturing are using the platform to level production schedules, diagnose recurring issues, and make better replenishment decisions. For instance, one company has managed to level production schedules instead of scrambling with overtime, while another has diagnosed a recurring quarter-end service drop that has cost months of recovery time.

Optilogic's platform combines Pulsar-powered demand modeling with network design, manufacturing, sourcing and procurement, and distribution and logistics, enabling customers to continuously optimize and test what-if scenarios across their entire supply chain. The company emphasizes that Pulsar is designed to be intuitive and user-friendly, requiring no modeling experience. Every Optilogic solution is backed by a customer success team with deep industry experience, including former roles at Nestle, Cargill, Crocs, and McKinsey.

With the launch of Pulsar, Optilogic is providing supply chain teams with a single platform to optimize the supply chain they have and design the one they need for the future. The company believes this approach will replace static, one-time studies with a model that stays current and decisions that are stress-tested before they're made.
