OpenCV Launches Enterprise Support Program for Computer Vision Applications

The initiative, dubbed OpenCV Enterprise, offers three tiers of support to help organizations maintain and develop their computer vision applications.

The program is designed to address the ongoing engineering challenges faced by companies that integrate OpenCV into their products, such as industrial inspection systems, medical imaging applications, robotics, and embedded devices. These companies need to ensure their products remain up-to-date and secure, while also planning for future upgrades. OpenCV Enterprise aims to provide the necessary support to manage these tasks within a defined product lifecycle.

OpenCV Enterprise comprises three tiers, each tailored to different needs and budgets:

1. OpenCV Enterprise LTS (Long-Term Support): Priced at $150,000 per year, this tier is suitable for teams maintaining a stable OpenCV integration over a defined product lifecycle. It includes security backports, severe-defect remediation, agreed regression testing, a named service owner, and 10 engineering days annually. This tier helps companies keep their established products supported while planning upgrades around their own release schedules.

2. OpenCV Enterprise Premier: At $250,000 per year, this tier offers priority engineering support for production issues and delays. It builds on LTS with a named technical lead, product-specific qualification, monthly technical reviews, and 30 engineering days annually. This tier provides a clear escalation path and additional capacity to address deployment-specific problems.

3. OpenCV Enterprise Partnership: Starting at $400,000 per year, this tier is for organizations requiring ongoing engineering collaboration across custom forks, platforms, and hardware generations. It includes 60 reserved engineering days annually, an agreed development backlog, and quarterly roadmap planning. Work can include optimization, fork maintenance, test integration, and scoped migration or porting.

Every OpenCV Enterprise binary will be certified by the company, ensuring that each supplied binary is tied to its source, build configuration, and qualification results. This certification process includes signed builds, source and patches, a software bill of materials, test results, change notes, and a release certificate for supported configurations.

For companies maintaining private OpenCV forks, the service can also address gaps in automated testing and ongoing maintenance. An internal fork may lack the breadth of build-and-test coverage available through OpenCV's continuous integration infrastructure. Enterprise qualification defines the configurations and regression checks needed for the customer's deployment, ensuring that the fork is supported within the agreed scope.

OpenCV remains free and open source, and the enterprise support program does not affect this status. Companies can explore the tiers and register at opencv.org/enterprise. Registration creates no purchase commitment, and the service is an optional paid offering.

The OpenCV Enterprise program builds on the company's existing engineering collaborations with Qualcomm Technologies and Arm, which have contributed to strengthening native OpenCV support for Windows on Snapdragon and improving performance on Arm-based platforms.
